Dropping the Last Letters for History (poem)

They fell like leaves from a tree
the last letter of every word compiling like quick stones
rolling down slope tumbling free
detached from an alphabet with phonemes never home

When I increased the zoom an eagle was waiting
a beak of random eclectic chance
without an electron algorithm
species fell off the ladder too
detached from evolution for silent springs

Rounded letters driven in square holes with a staccatto beat
breathing senseless words of meaningless gists
gathered inertia spent when dropped tops for lay down
with history's dinosaurs, monsters of transistors and quantum conjectures.
