Shouldn't the politicians be organizing the construction of geothermal power units in Juneau and Wrangell to produce electricity from saltwater and make freshwater (especially at Wrangell)? If the cities made their own electricity they could save a lot annually and for Juneau, finally build an electric light rail down Egan Drive and old glacier hwy to the Valley.
As for the terrible Canadian destruction of fishing quality in Alaskan Rivers that continue into Canada- what realistically can be done with such people that value metal extraction over water and wilderness quality?
