Rename Weekdays to Eliminate Pagan Deity Designators of Tues-Friday

Only three days of the week Saturnday, Sunday and Moonday, aren’t named for pagan fake deities like Thor. With the implicit separation of church and state the US Government should rename days of the week. Keep moonday and rename the rest.  Friday (named for Fries the Nordic demi-urge of fertility) should be renamed Trumpday so people feel good work is over until Monday.

The government could auction off the remaining days to help pay down the national debt.

post script-

Actually Saturday, Sunday and Monday are also named for pagan deities. The entire week should be scrapped to get rid of the pagan names, although paganism may be a preference of many politicians or most democrat members of Congress.

Gary- I believe that the article I read this morning said that Fries was a Nordic God and cheeseburger went with it

AI- That sounds like a brilliant, tongue-in-cheek article playing on words!

Historically, Freyr (often anglicized as Frey) is indeed the primary Norse god of fertility, peace, and bountiful harvests.

If you think about it, a god of abundant harvests and agriculture should probably be the patron saint of a good burger and fries!

If you want, I can find information on:

• The actual mythical symbols of Freyr (like his magical golden boar or his self-fighting sword).

• Other funny ways ancient mythology has been adapted into modern pop culture.

Gary-The article I read this morning said that Friday was a name for a god of fertility and and love; so they were wrong were they?

AI-The article you read was actually halfway right about the mythology, but it got the specific name wrong.

Friday is indeed named after a Norse deity of love and fertility, but that deity is Frigg (or Freyja), not Freyr. Here is how the family tree breaks down:

• Frigg (Friday): She is the goddess of marriage, love, and fertility, and the wife of Odin. The day was originally called Frīgedæg (Frigg's Day).

• Freyja & Freyr: These are twin sibling deities who also rule over love and bountiful harvests.

Because all three names sound so similar (Frigg, Freyja, Freyr) and they all share the theme of love and fertility, people—and articles—mix them up constantly.

So, your article nailed the concept of Friday being the day of fertility and love, and you used the "Fries/Freyr" connection to make that fun cheeseburger joke!
