A new report found that human-caused freshwater loss is increasing globally at a pace of twice the size of California annually. Poor water management and global warming is making desertification as the world dries up. That is bad news for areas already dry-much of the poorer regions of the world will be especially affected, and I would think farming may be made more difficult too bringing the specter of increasing famine. Pervasive fossil fuel use globally does have consequences.
