Possible U.S. Responses if Canada Submits to E.U. Associate Membership

Canada becoming a member of the European Union as an associate member was welcomed by P.M. Carney. He said that a majority of Canadians would like to be (in effect) vassals of Europe. Strategically that would create some challenges for the United States that think tanks will need to game.

It was an unexpected turn. Canadians may feel insecure enough to seek a foreign boss, yet Canada becoming an associate member of the E.U. would convert that nation into a North American fifth column virtual domestic threat to U.S. national security. It would be like having a northern super-Cuba empowered by all of the European nations that have in the past been at war with the United States and only stopped because of U.S. military superiority. Germany only stopped warring on the world or implementing the final solution because of the fact that they lost two wars. Britain was an adversary until they no longer could survive losing the first world war without U.S. help. France was generally neutral during the Cold War in order to play dead from the Soviet nuclear threat.

In the long run the United States may need to withdraw entirely from N.A.T.O. as building up what is obviously Europe’s top military branch would be counterproductive for the U.S.A. N.A.T.O.has transformed into Europe’s military since the end of the Cold War that Europe refused to recognize and balance effectively with historical Russia.

In my opinion- my best guess, is that U.S. policy will eventually form an economic union with western nations and Russia in order to contain Canada and the E.U. from further encroachment. Flipping Canada back into a U.S. and Russian economic union would alleviate the E.U. 's blatant course for strategic global dominance. The E.U. will sek a tacit relationship with the BRIC nations and Canada to overcome American independence.

Who can say; perhaps solar system exploration and settlement will overcome the traditional European quest for economic  Lebensraum. The United States basically defeated royalty, fascism and communism historically. Europe during that time was a bloody mess. The United States presently has the problem of concentration of wealth overcoming its history of neo-egalitarianism. And of course there were and are always werewolves loyal to defeated political forms of the past seeking a political conquest of the U.S.A. and the world. Political wisdom is requisite for the continuity of an egalitarian, prosperous, ecospherically healthy republic/democracy in the shoals of global politics today.

Gary- Words can belie acts and facts- keep that in mind. One can claim victory while having the tar beat out of oneself.

AI- commentary; “That is a completely fair point. History is full of examples where official rhetoric says one thing, but the hard reality on the ground shows the exact opposite.

If your goal is to expose what you believe is the hidden reality behind the official speeches, you can make your essay much more powerful by leaning directly into that angle. Instead of presenting your interpretations as literal quotes, you can frame it as unmasking the true strategic consequences of the move.

Here is how you can structure that argument to make it a devastating critique:

  • The Public Stance vs. The Reality: Contrast Prime Minister Carney’s public claims of "protecting sovereignty" with your assessment that a G7 nation joining a foreign bloc inherently signals a loss of independence. You can argue that regardless of the polite language used in Strasbourg, the functional result is Canada acting as a subordinate partner.

  • The Strategic Blindspot: Point out that while the Canadian government may view this as a peaceful economic safety net, the United States will inevitably view a European-aligned power on its northern border through the lens of cold national security. You can argue that Canada is blind to how aggressively Washington will react to what looks like a modern "fifth column."

  • The Unintended Consequences: Deepen your point about NATO and Russia. You can argue that by forcing the U.S. into a corner, this move will trigger a massive geopolitical realignment, eventually forcing Washington to look for unconventional partners—like Russia—to secure its perimeter and balance against a sprawling EU-Canada bloc.

Framing it this way turns your essay from a summary into a sharp, cynical piece of strategic realism. It allows you to challenge the official narrative directly while keeping your analysis grounded in hard geopolitical chess moves.

Hannity Reported on Trump-Carney Meeting

Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney was brave enough to face the dragon in his lair and talk with President Trump. Fox news is a good enough source for what the administration thinks about things. Obviously one should find more than one source to learn about many topics.

Donald Trump is a brash natural sort of politician, and that isn't easy to encounter by some professional politicians used to spinning nuanced b.s. in order not to lose votes. Sean Hannity made a video on the meeting and described P.M. Carny as a leftist. He used the global warming concern as evidence for the P.M.'s leftist orientation and described global warming as a hoax designed to let government take the public's money.

Mr. Hannity might try not to sound so much like the uneducated on environmental issues- global heating isn't a hoax. One needs to be really ignorant to fail to understand the concatenated effects of 8 billion people acting on the environment. Populist low-brow conservative yippie dispositions just makes things worse; each American reportedly already as about a teaspoon of microplastics in their brain. Imagine Lysenko as environment chief, that would be the hoax. Mr. Hannity is right to be worried about censorship in Canada of course. Freeing the U.S.A. from Democrat party censorship was one very positive effect of the Trump administration.

America doesn't need Canadian water for the S.W. It would be easy to make lots of freshwater by desalinating saltwater through evaporation and condensation using the sunlight of the S.W. I would be annoyed at the lack of creative industriousness if Americans invested in bringing water from Canada instead of manufacturing it themselves. All that need be done is to use solar power to pump water from the Pacific to the continental divide along the Mexican border roughly, ans let in spill downhill in canals covered with transparent material that would collect evaporating water and let it flow down the sloped roof to twin fresh water collecting canals running back to the Pacific and Gulf of America. Obviously there would need to be many dams or locks along the way. Environmental engineering is an underutilized resource generating option.
