Jehovah's Witness Seem Close to Perping the Unpardonable Sin

 Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in the Holy Spirit as a person and member of the Trinity. Instead they regard the Holy Spirit as an ‘active’ force of God. The unpardonable sin is “grieving the Holy Spirit”. So not believing the Holy Spirit is a real individual might grieve the Spirit, no?

That difficult paradigm is meaningful for Christians who definitely want to avoid grieving the Holy Spirit. It isn’t a technical or trick question sort of grievance some ‘experts’ have opined. It is intentional blasphemy. So if JWs don’t know that not believing in the reality of the Holy Spirit is comparable to not believing in the reality of Jesus, except perhaps as an active force of God, maybe they aren’t committing the big one. Jesus did say; “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Matthew and Mark contain passages where Jesus  talks about the unpardonable sin (Matthew 12:31-32 and Mark 3:28-30). I asked google search to summarize what Jesus had to say about the Holy Spirit; this is what it wrote;

Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as a distinct person within the Trinity, not just an impersonal power or force, emphasizing his role as a teacher, counselor, and comforter. He describes the Holy Spirit as “another Helper,” distinct from himself, and the Father, who will be sent in his name. Jesus also highlights the Holy Spirit’s intimate connection with believers, emphasizing his presence and dwelling within them.

Here’s a more detailed look at how Jesus describes the Holy Spirit:

Dwelling within Believers:Jesus also says that the Holy Spirit dwells with believers and will be in them. This signifies a personal and intimate relationship between the Spirit and those who believe in Jesus.

Distinct Person:Jesus consistently speaks of the Holy Spirit as a “person,” using pronouns like “he” and “him”. This contrasts with the idea of the Holy Spirit being merely an impersonal force or power.

Sent by the Father:Jesus states that the Holy Spirit will be sent by the Father in his name. This indicates a distinct relationship and delegation of authority within the Trinity.

Connected to Jesus:Jesus emphasizes that the Holy Spirit will glorify him, taking what is Jesus’ and declaring it to the believers. This highlights the Holy Spirit’s role in making Jesus’ teachings and message known.

Comforter and Counselor:Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will be a comforter and counselor to his disciples, guiding them into all truth.”
