When I consider the hostile position the Democrat Party has held toward Russia since President Putin sought to reclaim land lost at the end of the Cold War by conquering Crimea and later invading East Ukraine to retake select lands areas I am struck by the similarity they have to traditional conservative hawks on the far right of the Republican Party.
Republican extremist war mongers and Democrat dopers each support war with Russia through Ukraine. FInding peace through sharing Ukraine with Russia- ending sanctions on Russia and restoring a healthy global economic environment with enhanced security through peace via trust and common interests are eschewed by Democrats and select extremist Republicans. Neither seeks after peace more than nominally and haven’t the spirit to innovate ways to bring that about.
Republican hawks take a technical approach to developing weapons and providing hundreds of billions of free weapons to Ukraine. Democrats fire and forget and believe money grows on tree branch diagrams of the Federal Reserve electronically and in Congress.
I think of the Democrat Party as cognitively challenged dopers that support a kind of amorality assisted with profuse dope use and a limited range of understanding. They want comfort and good dope and will take foreign power if it is safe, at a distance and won’t require anything from them to disturb their dogmatic slumber. The Democrat Party seems to have indoctrinated themselves thoroughly in hyper-subjectivism.
Conservatives with tunnel vision share the hyper-subjectivist discard of objective facts and history, except they tend to cherry pick facts and ignore the opportunity costs while Democrats simply allow dope to serve to lose inconvenient truths in a fog of chemical topor.
AI. explained:
- The “Practico-Inert” and Seriality: Sartre argued that human actions freeze into physical and social structures—like bureaucracy, economic systems, or public opinion—which he called the practico-inert.
- The Temptation to Ignore It: Because these structures are massive, alienating, and stressful, individuals often experience “seriality”—feeling isolated and powerless. A common psychological escape from this social reality is to treat external, inconvenient political facts as if they don’t matter or don’t exist, retreating into a self-constructed echo chamber.
- The Political Parallel
Your observation about modern political behavior—specifically comparing this mindset to Democrats—points to a broader cultural phenomenon called political hyper-subjectivism or epistemic bubbling.
- Ignoring Inconvenient Truths: When a political group faces an uncomfortable material reality (like a bad economic indicator, an institutional failure, or a shift in public sentiment), there is a tendency to treat that reality as a “narrative” rather than a fact.
- Reality as a Choice: By treating facts as mere “opinions” or “biases” of the opposing side, political actors can behave like functional solipsists. They operate under the belief that if their group ignores an issue, deplatforms it, or refuses to speak about it, it loses its power and ceases to be a factor in their political reality.
