Abraham & The Promise

Christians are spiritual descendants of Abraham. His faith was counted as righteousness. Faith in Christ is counted as righteousness too; the vicarious righteousness of Christ given unto Christians through the cross and atoning sacrifice.

Abraham lived circa 2000 B.C. in Sumer. Rosenberg in his book 'Abraham; The First Historical Biography' described an Abraham whose father Terah was employed as an artisan making statues for the grand Sumerian Universal-life plays atop ziggurats representing the life activities of pagan gods. They were something like Hollywood movies in the day taken as reality T.V.

Abraham was apprenticed as a scribe to write the religious myth/scientific explanation of the day in cuneiform clay tablets. Apparently there are lots of fragments of such clay scrivenings remaining from the era. Terah (Terra) left Ur (Earth) with Avrm and Sarai traveling north in eventually.

Rosenberg's Abraham is written somewhat poetically and intuitively with creative license. Yet Rosenberg is a good Jewish scholar. He also co-wrote with Bloomberg 'The J Book' examining the identity of the compiler of the first part of the Old Testament in the court of Solomon or his son Rehoboam. There probably were lots of existing written material and oral traditions then that were correlated at the order of the King of Israel following the construction of the Temple. When the worship of God was being firmly established in Zion-Jerusalem in a permanent location it would have been a rather natural process to unify a presentation of existing written and oral material in the Pentateuch.

In a way the story of Abraham and Sarah and their being progenitors of the people of God reminds me of Adam and Eve as progenitors of the human race. It is a human race that fell to the temptation of sin. With free will and the communication dialect with the serpent the dyad of Adam and Eve did not heed to the word of God well enough.

Adam and Eve lived in what was a non-thermodynamic Universe set aside from the created world outside the Garden of Eden. It seems as if they were cast out into a thermodynamic paradigm to be the means through which human life on Earth might be saved from the material, thermodynamic criterion. That is a cultural mandate to make a people of God-a spiritual being, from the numbers of evolved human beings in God's creation, was made. Noah's descendants debarked to found nations within what seems to be an already peopled world (though there were only 200 million humans on Earth in the year zero. The chosen people were to become a priesthood of believers bringing as many as was predetermined by God to a spiritual and holy condition through the will of God the father, Son and Holy Spirit.

One reads in Genesis of the line of post-flood descendants of Noah in Mesopotamia.

Genesis 10:32 "These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their
generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in
the earth after the flood."

Earth in this context if referenced phonetically may refer to Ur (th). The plain of Shinar where the Tower of Babel is built, probably with a pagan play of God statues on top, must have irritated God quite a bit. Cain and Abel and so much early history occurs in this area. Yet it might be the history relevant to the future chosen people and their ancestor-Abraham.

When the tower of Babel is built and eventually destroyed generations pass in Mesopotamia. Terah has three sons, Abraham, Nahor and Haran. They live in Ur or more accurately perhaps Sumer that preceded Ur at the same location. Haran dies in Ur before Abraham journeys north. Terah as the family patriarch takes his family and that of Abraham as well as Haran's son Lot to the land of Canaan to live in the town named Haran. It is in Haran that Terah dies and where Abraham encounters the call of God. 'Ha' means 'the' in Hebrew, malek means 'king'. God had broken down the one-language & people culture of globalists at the Tower of Babel with their abominable practices and exfiltrated Abraham from the confusion of the plain of Shinar and its wretched, vainglorious polytheism over time.

Genesis 11..."24 And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:
25 And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen
years, and begat sons and daughters.
26 And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and
Haran.
27 ¶ Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram,
Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's
wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of
Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his
son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and
they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and
Terah died in Haran.
Chapter 12
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country,
and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I
will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and
make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot
went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he
departed out of Haran.
5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all
their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had
gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan;
and into the land of Canaan they came.
6 ¶ And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem,
unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will
I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who
appeared unto him.
8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Beth-
el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Hai on the
east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon
the name of the LORD.
9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
10 ¶ And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into
Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt,
that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see
thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
14 ¶ And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt,
the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her
before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep,
and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and
she asses, and camels.
17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great
plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife."

This incident of a plague hitting pharaoh because of Pharaoh's treatment of Sarai is something of a model of the plagues that hit Pharaoh's Egypt when Moses seek the release of the captive Jews maybe a half millennium later.

Abraham experienced a great test of faith. It is recorded in Genesis 22: "CHAPTER 22
1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt
Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I
am.
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou
lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a
burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass,
and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave
the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place
of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the
place afar off.
5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the
ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to
you.
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon
Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they
went both of them together.
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and
he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the
wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a
burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and
Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound
Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay
his son.
11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and
said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any
thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast
not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind
him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and
took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his
son.
14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is
said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
15 ¶ And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven
the second time,
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because
thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only
son:
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply
thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
because thou hast obeyed my voice."

This great promise of God to Abraham occurs in the book of Genesis. It is a remarkable book that takes one from the creation of the Universe to the development of the covenant with a people who would serve as a nation of priests. The next book is that of Exodus.

The Jews or Israel as the people would be called after Jacob who changed his name per God's decree are the bride of Christ, or God's chosen people to be a Holy nation and priests to the world of the word of God.

Isaiah 41-"8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the
seed of Abraham my friend."

Due to their inability to comply with the terms of the Mosaic covenant well enough the priesthood of believers was expanded through the Lord Jesus Christ to include all followers of Christ.

It is useful to keep in mind what Jesus said about being a spiritual descendant of Abraham (from Matthew 3) "9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham." This is a notice to those believing in a material, genetic dispensational salvation that it is hearts and minds following the Lord that brings one to be regarded by God as a child of Abraham.
Abraham had many wives. Not only Hagar with the issue of Ishmael (and Hagar probably married someone after being set adrift by Abraham hence Ismael's brothers), Abraham had several sons by women other than Sarah.
Genesis Chapter 15:
"1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a
vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding
great reward.
2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go
childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo,
one born in my house is mine heir.
4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This
shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own
bowels shall be thine heir.
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward
heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said
unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for
righteousness.
7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur
of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it."

Hagar was an Egyptian maid of Sarah. God talked with her too. She also was informed that her 'seed' would be a multitude, yet perhaps not as great of order of magnitude as that of Abraham via Sarah. Abraham has those interesting life and times concerns interacting with God and society in Canaan and Egypt. Abraham's life is a story in-itself.
To Hagar in Genesis chapter 15:"10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed
exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with
child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because
the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man,
and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren."

In Romans 15:6-9 the Apostle Paul encapsulates the place of the Lord within the Abrahamic, line to increase the spiritual heirs of Abraham that are children of God. "6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name."
It may be useful to note that the Davidic promise that an heir of King David would always be King of Israel-an eternal king, is fulfilled by the Lord Jesus. Some might argue that as Christians are one with the Lord through his saving grace that they too share in His Lordship, yet I think that is incorrect. Christians share in the Abrahamic promise that his seed would be as numerous as the stars in the sky (many), yet the eternal Kingship of the line of King David is fulfilled in just one individual-the Lord Jesus.
Genesis 15-"13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be
a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they
shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and
afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in
a good old age.
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the
iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was
dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed
between those pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying,
Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the
great river, the river Euphrates"

So I suppose Abraham qualifies as a prophet since God informed him of the future captivity of his people in Egypt where they would multiply in number before being released and returning to the land of Abraham.

Abraham and Sarah's names were changed by God from AVRM and Sarai to indicate their future fecundity.

Genesis Chapter 17
"1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD
appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk
before me, and be thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a
father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name
shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of
thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy
seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be
a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land
wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting
possession; and I will be their God.
9 ¶ And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant
therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you
and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be
circumcised.
11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be
a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you,
every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or
bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy
money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your
flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is
not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath
broken my covenant."

God gave Abraham particular terms for the covenant or contract between them. It had a material and spiritual component. Circumcision was a notable, irreversible procedure that gave the Jews a particular identity as children of Abraham that over time were given additional instructions to comply with. That helped develop the Jewish people as children of God over the millennia leading eventually to an increase or transcendence of the covenant with new terms to include those saved by the Lord Jesus.

Genesis Chapter 17 "And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will
bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall
be of her."

This is consistent with the 'seed of the woman' paradigm of the protoevangelium. Though Abraham's seed is numerous through other lines than that of Sarah, it is through Sarah that the seed of the woman continues from Eve and on to the Davidic dynasty, Mary and the Lord who is the eternal Shepard King. The Lord's teleology resounds through history.

Yellowstone Magma National Geo-Thermal Power & Water Making Source?

Discovery of a deeper level magma reserve underneath the massive Yellowstone Park Supervolcano may one day be the basic energy supply source for the U.S.A. and Canada. Using the unlimited geothermal power to desalinate seawater pumped in from the west coast to make steam and fresh water in the process of turning power turbines sending electricity through duper-conducting lines across the continent and water to parched regions of the southwest.

Looking ahread to systems applications that might relieve built up pressure to detonate the volcano while creating electricial power might be a useful concept for the future.

Suffering and the African Illegal Alien Problem

With personalized social suffering inventive, creative people such are forced to stop inventing things because there is no possibility of profit. They must stop trying to stimulate or reform the economy with new ideas and creative solutions because they will be persecuted and mocked for doing so. In America the rich are allowed to publicly suggest ideas for economic change that are substantial while the poor may be persecuted for doing so. The media can set the herd upon anyone in innumerable dissimulative ways. Correspondingly the rich are not persecuted because they can afford to leave the nation and retire some place else.

I thought about the European African migrant problem and came up with a solution overnight yet European bureaucrats would take days or years and the media would report that for days or years without solving anything. They let things go until the next crisis evolves to replace the old. Crisis affect the poor more than the rich.

Consider arresting the migrants at sea an relocating them to a free-immigration transit zone in Ivory Coast, Liberia or someplace thousands of miles away from Europe. The zones would be negotiated with the host countries and the EC. Human rights would be preserved. Social order is better than disorder generally. With order one may in theory make measured adjustment to alleviate suffering of the poor and middle class. In disorder the corrupt flourish, wealth and power are concentrated.

Human rights are not tied to national rights except in the case that humans cannot be forcibly relocated from their home country someplace else. Humans have no right to invade other nations - not even by sneaking under the wire. Humans rights provisions for food, shelter, clothing and personal liberty (asap) would be met while relocating refugees to their home region. Bus or some other regional transport to their preferred local destination would be provided by the EC from the Free Returning Migrant Zones.

If Africans need some sort of European help to create trade, commerce and creativity training camps that returning migrants can improve their lives in, the EC should get involved with that in creating a few dozen enterprise zones in various African countries. Instead of taking an I.M.F. or U.N. country-wide economic approach, particular training and enterprise skills to produce quality of life changing articles would be provided before the migrants return home. The skills centers might include building tetra-domes from local or component parts, installing solar collecting thin film and connecting to low cost l.c.d. lights, small gardening with water extracted from air with adaptive dehumidifiers designed by the EC. One need not wonder why bureaucrats and the media do not find competent or accurate solutions to challenging situations of social suffering since they often create more, not less. The Obama-Clinton policies in the Middle East have created more rather than less suffering and more rather than less violations of human rights.

Hillary's Second Attempt on the Summit Sherpa'd by Generation Dead

Hillary’s second summit assault on the Presidency is being helped with the first aborted American generation-Generation Dead motivating her up the mountain as well as Bill's coat tails. Generation Dead are the Baby Boomer’s lost life siblings for Generation X. Aborting millions and millions of babies increased the political power and economic efficiency of feminists. Instant social streamling deleting inconvenient protoplasm facilitated reallocation of resources and affirmative action synergy for feminists.

http://www.numberofabortions.com/

The first American generation to be regarded as protoplasm or fertile snot-more than 57 million souls, were conveniently aborted through a number of inventive means following Rowe v Wade. With the importunate obstacle of national health, youth and vitality removed enfeofment of American women to the peak of political power was regarded by feminists as sure to follow. Generation D would not exist to vote against her. Hillary could set her sight upon the vision of planetary power at the top though without bottled rhetorical oxymoron she might become a little faint and wobble a little in photo op steps.

Comparable perhaps to a feminist anti-Moses climbing with Sherpa generations of the Dead up a mountain to carve instructions of atheist immorality leading to a promised and of doom, Hillary's homosexual followers seem to forget that Moses and that first generation were made to remain in the desert and perish without making it to the promised land. I hope the nation of doom will need to await a future generation and a future climber that is not one of those that first aborted a generation of Americans.

Femnists in contemporary politics labored under the misimpression that advancing class protoplasm distinguishable along the x-y axis, race and perversion coould degrade the rights of man to a state of universal protoplasmic amoral normality. Homosexual marriage zealots were simply too weak to defend manly rights and opted to become as women in their minds with feminists being too eager to acellerate the degradation and equalization of man with women at a lower level. Yet degrading mankind and reducing human beings too a subhuman protoplasmic political state ruled defacto by rich elites is not a step forward at all. It is a descent toward moral and spiritual inferno. Democrats need to readjust politics toward economic fairness at a traditional level. During the Democrat majority in the Obama administration the party voted almost universally to give permanent tax cuts to the rich. So long as the Clintons run the party, hell on Earth economically speaking will continue to develop.

The cleansing of Generation D from the American political landscape was a first in world history comparable only to the holocaust at changing a social demographic constituency in a ‘civilized’ country. Egregious sin was regarded as scientifically and morally preferable to self-discipline and allegiance to God where wisdom might develop even if learning from mistakes. Increases of wisdom with experience rather were disdained with narcissism, abortion and a dehumanized culture under the a pagan god of science, government and corporatism seeming to be a shining city on a hill where the 1% would live benevolently directing the protoplasm of the masses, shocking, cutting and excising it where it need be in order to maximize the efficiency of the 1%.

What is Divine Grace?

Grace=predestination. Gravity applies to all mass and energy and so likely does grace apply to all spirit, although God obviously designs quantity and qualities of anything. God's will is one and effective in all things. Categorizing, defining things with language is a human activity, that dimly resembles some ways of God. One might compare grace to a video game program design in which all humans are players that pre-determines outcomes and sorts players into sheep and goats . One must be one or the other and the programmer decided who would be sheep or goats and wrote that into the programming code. Believers in the Programmer regard grace as iterations of the lines of code, as it is written.

Astro-Intell Agents Having Trouble Finding Alien Civilizations

In more than 100,000 galaxies no signs of the existence of an advanced civilization have been found (see the S.A. article http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/alien-supercivilizations-absent-from-100-000-nearby-galaxies/ )

Primitive advanced alien civilizations may conceal themselves from predators or be destroyed. There may be a sort of Occam's Razor or Diner's Dilemma progression for survival of the meekest I would think. Yet they may conceal their conspicuous consumption waste energy as dark energy exhaust to expand space-time faster thus throwing off cosmologist's careful calculations.

I would guess that throwing a reflecting-energy collecting emergency blanket around the sun would not be an optimal remedy for increasing 1960s era paradigms for energy use requirements to advance civilizations-that seems something like a poetically ironic oxymoron.

Smarter and bigger breadboxes require more and more energy-even stars and galaxies must be surrounded and digested without thought for energy dieting or food-fuel efficiency ratios. Quality over quantity is what ecological economic cosmologists probably prefer.

The Need for Long-Term Stability in Presidential Economic Policy

The primary challenge facing the American electorate is to bring stability to the U.S. economy. Idealists and pragmatics alike may want a President fluent in ecological economics able to innovate reform yet that just isn't going to happen the next couple of decades. In fact since the end of the Reagan administration the Presidency has been unstable with poor economic or moral leadership weakening the long-term economic stability in the post-cold war era. So what is the best prospect for longer-range stability in the Presidency.

Actually it would be a Walker-Rubio administration for 16 years with Democrats pressuring environmental change 7 years from now. That is the best the country going to get, and its not that bad.

In the Kingdom of God (Where the Lord Lives)

In the 8th century B.C. -Isaiah 49-"6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7 Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One,
to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a
servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship,
because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and
he shall choose thee.
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee,
and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee,
and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to
cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Isaiah Chapter 9- "6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no
end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and
to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for
ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform thishing out of his wings
shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel."

circa 1000 B.C.-2nd Samuel: "Chapter 7
1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the
LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an
house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the
LORD is with thee.
4 ¶ And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came
unto Nathan, saying,
5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou
build me an house for me to dwell in?
6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I
brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but
have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle."

When the Lord appeared in person, God's local residence was no longer in an ark in a Temple. The Temple in effect was the Lord himself.

circa 30 A.D.-Matthew Chapter 8 "20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath
not where to lay his head."

circa 30 A.D.-Mark 8 "31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man
must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again."

circa 30 A.D.-John 2 "18 ¶ Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said."

Like an empty obsolete building, the Temple of Herod was not where God dwelt after the Lord's ministry. When Jesus was crucified and died, the veil of the Temple was torn asunder. The old covenant was ended finally and the new covenant begun.

Matthew 27 "50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;"

CHAPTER 53
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the
LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root
out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we
shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and
acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he
was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we
did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for
our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with
his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to
his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his
mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep
before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall
declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living:
for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his
mouth.
10 ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his
seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall
prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by
his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall
bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall
divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul
unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare
the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

Select Messianic Prophecies of the OT

The Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament are sometimes mentioned in church yet little enough known to many Christians. I thought I'd post these passages while reading an OT Theology course. They are quite remarkable.

8th century B.C. Isaiah 42-"5  Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

Zecharia 13
"1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David
and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness."

"6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine
hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the
house of my friends. 7 ¶ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the
sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two
parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them"

Isaiah-Chapter 11
"1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a
Branch shall grow out of his roots:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked"

Isaiah Chapter 9-"6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform thishing out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel."

Isaiah Chapter 53" 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he
was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Matthew 8:17, 12:18-21,42:1 refer to Isaiah 53
1 Peter 2:24, Romans 4:25 cite Isaiah 53 in support of Jesus' atoning death
53:10- Jesus was killed with thieves (wicked) and placed in a tomb paid for by the wealthy Pharisee Nicodemus (rich)

Isaiah 49-"6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to
raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee,
and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee,
and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to
cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in
darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their
pastures shall be in all high places."

Isaiah Chapter 11: "10  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest
shall be glorious. 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people,
which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros,
and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath,
and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble
the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from
the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of
Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall
not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the
west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their
hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey
them.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian
sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river,
and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over
dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people,
which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that
he came up out of the land of Egypt."

Isaiah Chapter 19-"21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea,
they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it. 22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23 ¶ In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and
the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and
the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria,"

Isaiah Chapter 61

"1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath
anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the
 opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty
for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the
spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 ¶ And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former
desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of
many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the
alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you
the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in
their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 ¶ For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they
shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess
the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering;
and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting
covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their
offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge
them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my
God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath
covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh
himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her
jewels.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden
causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD
will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the
nations."

Jesus read Isaiah 61 at the start of his ministry in Luke 4:16 " And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath
sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set
at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."

Isaiah 66 verse 21 about new heaven and Earth

Revelation 21
This could describe a modern high-tech world, perhaps witha cloud of space station-habitats facing the sun with no oceanic travel or communication barriers on Earth-a world that is new in virtue of the new covenant. A world that is new from a spiritual point of view rather than simply material. Isn't the church already the bride of Christ-rather than some sort of future potential relationship that wasn't already established? Isn't the new Jerusalem the new covenant with Israel-Jacob-the saved, or center of God's spiritual kingdom of God that replaced that lost to Roman occupation and destruction?

This new Earth might be one that is developed over time as the kingdom of God increases, keeping with prophecies that are sometimes fulfilled over time rather than instantly like video-game scene flipping.

Revelation Chapter 21
"1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
]14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk
in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for
there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."

Contexts of Theonomy

Theonomy is a tough word to pin down. Don't some use it to mean a society governed by God's law, or the eschaton ruled by God's law or will as people understand it including teleology? Doesn't it mean more than simply the legalistic social environment and works of traditional first century Jews or better yet, Muslims today living by Sharia? Tillich wrote about theonomy within an existential context, and that wasn't totally plain to me. Jesus has laws of conduct for people to live by in faith comprising Christian ethics, yet for argumentative purposes, say social conduct is entirely grace without temptations arising and with people as virtual automatons with salvation programming installed-isn't that still a God's law (equivalent to his will in some respects) environment of theonomy (where God rules). So that is what theonomy is perhaps-a place where God rules and one is aware of that and chooses to obey rather than sin?

President Wants Congress to Vote for Lynch? (singular sense)

After six years of being President of the United States President Obama has asked Congress to vote to give him a Lynch for attorney general. Understandably the Congress may be recalcitrant about Lynching this late in the second term of the first black President except for Bill Clinton who claimed to be the first black President-possibly dissimulating a little.

President Obama must have sort sort of a sense of humor in his toolkit.

The Everlasting Davidic Kingdom of Jesus Christ

Isaiah, Jeremiah and the Lord all spoke prophecy about the near term (as well as the distant). The protoevangelium and the seed of the woman, the Abrahamic promise, blessing upon all the nations, the Davidic promise and an eternal kingdom through the seed of the woman, Abraham's heirs and the House of David, the Lord Jesus Christ descended from David through Mary point to Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of Lords.

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace."

Jesus spoke of prophecy that would be fulfilled in the generation of his day in the first century, and that the kingdom of God was at hand. The Davidic kingdom in the form the Lord actualized it is eternal. How so then would it not have started in the first century? It continues to increase in numbers today. The pre-trib paradigm is just wrong.

John too as a prophet spoke to the impending crisis of his day. The beast was Nero and the tribulation was the persecution of Christians and impending destruction of Jerusalem. Is their any prophetic tradition, or a preponderance of prophets whom address solely distant events without relevant to people living in their generation?

Kings & Queens; The Big Sleep

Kings and queens and guillotines is one of the best lyrical rhymes in music. It has that zing on a phonetic and paradigmatic axis. As it is in music so it is in the wild kingdom wherein the Lord Jesus Christ is the only king able to survive the cutting-edge test of right to rule over democracy. After all the heads of kings and queens roll and sadistic oppressors are put down to their natural realm of the big sleep just the Lord Jesus Christ remains resurrected and eternal in the kingdom of God.
