Can something that is finite ever become infinite? If finite mass was dropped into pre-existing infinite space could it potentially increase in area to occupy all of the infinite space? Might time originating at one moment become infinite and occupy all of time without travelling into the past before its own creation?

Reading 'The Infinite Book' can set one's cosmological ideas increasing over time-it's conceptual tools allow one to place what one has read of popular scientific cosmology into refreshed theoretical parameters. If an expanding universe is just a local bubble within a contracting metaverse or not we might be aware that empirical observations will likely tend to return local (the observable universe) results generating a basis for speculation about the infinity beyond.

In on overall empty space one might guess that there should be some sort of formula describing the maximum quantity of infinite mass that can exist in proportion to infinite space without making all that distributed infinite mass collapse under gravity or some other force into an infinitely small singularity. In fact it is difficult to imagine some such perfect distribution of mass that could be temporally stable in an infinite configuration.

It is also natural to have a bias that the infinitely small concentration of mass would have a better logical situation than a finite quantity of mass distributed through space at an infinite distance apart. What forces could make for the perfect and equal spacing of all individual particle waves of matter at an infinite distance from other particle waves? Maybe the obvious answer is that infinite time and spacing of wave-particles would average everything out.

It seems that an infinite space with finite lived stars and mass aggregations would forever be depleting its aggregations of mass and ending up with virtually nothing over time. If mass is infinite one might think that it should occupy all space with infinite weight and density at all locations of the infinite space volume extending infinitely. With mass having a different, implicit quantum field dynamic of instability and temporality that would make it draw together or apart as an infinite spatially distributed fact coexistent with the infinity of space it is more challenging to imagine mass as a kind of emerald ocean that does not change and exists like a stable crystal lattice occupying all points of space without change eternally such that conjecture about mass occupying all of infinite space might be satisfied without the problems of bonding forces, string theory and so forth.

An infinite space filled with an infinite amount of matter might not need to have the infinite quantity of matter occupy the infinite space if the matter can change it's density distribution infinitely from the very small to infinitely apportioned. Yet even if mass by be inflated with an infinite velocity to occupy infinite space it is difficult to imagine that infinite mass once compacted to the infinitely small could ever again occupy all of infinite space even if accelerating with infinite speed. It is a little like thinking about Zeno's Eleatic paradoxes of the tortoise and the rabbit running at infinite speeds over infinite distances in increasing quantitative strides rather than the usual parameters of decrease.

Cosmology including study on potential shapes of the universe, of its limits as finite or infinite, of its many possible shapes and of the curvature of space, of our Universe as one inflated bubble of many-these sorts of things are integral with the topic of infinity and kinds of infinity.

Barrow goes over many of the researches of philosophers, scientists and theologians past and present that presented and developed concepts of infinity and cosmology. The book is a usefull addition to popular cosmology. Barrow is a mathematical astrophysicist and a fine popular philosopher of cosmology.

He wrote that the WMAP Wilkerson Digital Sky Survey of the microwave background provided a little evidence that some vibration-wavelengths from the early universe appear to have been cancelled out. I believe he mentioned that it is supportive of what could occur if the universe is of finite size yet unbounded as might be a cylinder or sphere or other finite space. The idea is that some of the returning waves would cancel out.

Space-time could still expand of course yet remain finite. Perhaps early black holes that slowed down the Universe after inflation evaporated over time such that without that drag the universe resumed expansion for some time. The cosmological constant isn't likely to be a perpetual motion force never running down.

With so many-perhaps an infinite number of potential if not actual configurations for the Universe to exist in beyond and transcending the edge of the visible Universe it is good to have some added ideas about infinity, of its nature and forms, and the ideas of others over history that have contemplated its potential and actual forms.

Does infinite nothingness exist beyond space-time? Is there a finite amount of mass in the universe and is the space in which it exists infinite? There are more than 1001 formulations and relationship configurations of matter, nothingness, space in regard to quantity and its logical relation to existence. Georg Cantor wrote about trans-finite sets of ever increasing infinities in math. Even with such concepts we run ashore like St. Augustine upon the conceptual nature of God transcending pluralism, time and dimension. An examination of infinities helps one appreciate that.

On the Mission of Jonah Bringing Prophesy to the Assyrians of Nineveh

Jonah was affirmed as a prophet delivered by God to bring the word to surprisingly willing Ninevites enacting the orders pacifically. Though Jonah could not bring himself to directly let the Ninevite know that they had to change their ways, God could and did bring Jonah’s mission to fulfillment with on-time delivery of the prophet to convey the word.

Jonah completing his mission took rest outside town. A plant springs up providing shade; the word of God can produce quick growth evangelically when the time is right and shelter the prophet if necessary too.

We wonder if the way people of the ancient world used language was more developed toward illustrative analogies than discrete, impressionistic verb and noun morpheme pointillism or bureaucratese incomprehensible to many outside the loop.

In reading Jaroslav Pelikan’s book ‘Whose Bible is It’ that idea of Jonah’s symbolism develops naturally considering the insight that Jonah’s was one of the first missions of evangelization to the Non-Jewish world by a Jewish prophet. It has the plain sound of truth to it that ought not be troubling to those arguing about the capacity of a fish or whale to swallow a man That speculation, and the literal language meanings of the original Hebrew may miss the larger context in which the story is set of a lone prophet sent to bring the word of God to a warlike alien society in which he will be consumed by an unsympathetic crowd. Skinner. Trimming down human society to fit on the finite yet unbounded Earth is something like using nitro-glycerin to remove the dandelions from your front lawn. It is better to educate and inform human society explicitly of the extreme empirical challenges brought by manifest limits to growth and expect their voluntary support in conforming to new temporal guidelines than to slip in a morphing and pervasive transformation of human biology existentially.

Stocks, may be inflated as over-valued bubbles, many of the corporations may do business in China, India, Nigeria or Brazil and the value of a corporate stock may be driven higher with news that it may be bought by another corporation; stock values may also be driven higher as corporate productivity increases by firing workers, outsourcing production and focusing on short term shareholder dividend profit and CEO bonuses instead-all actions such as cutting employee health and retirement packages that can lead to degradation of workers and worker standard of living.

News agencies should refine the Corporate reports with a new financial and insurance sector stock price report so the public can know daily of how the rest of the economy is being trimmed. The actual industrial corporations could be listed in foreign and domestic production facilities to better tie in their management profits and stock values to some relation to the U.S. economy.

Another Unscientific View of Quantum Entanglement & Speed of Light Limit

One might wonder if Einstein developed the speed of light as the maximum possible velocity because a photon is a basic massless particle in the field of the Universe. For anything with mass to travel through space-time it would pass through gravitational fields and others equivalent to riding a bicycle into the wind and receiving increasing resistance with increased speed. Mass effectively increases to infinity as it is accelerated to the speed of light, more energy is needed to move it through resisting quanta of space, or maybe inertia lets it travel through the one atom per cubic meter void of space at light speed as a black hole. Maybe the missing mass of the universe are several separate particles of mass accelerated to light speed with the accompanying apparent infinite mass weight gain as black holes that embed themselves in normal space-time.

Einstein won the Nobel for his work reconstituting light as a particle rather than just a wave.

Some of us non-physicists have a grasp of some of the facts about relativity and light as the maximum possible speed. Anything accelerating near light speed experiences an increase of the value of its mass right up to infinity at the high end. For some reason the things that make us matter when accelerated pass through space and acquire excess gravity and or their energy converts into mass.

Well, enough of that non-sense. The Delta V values of getting several thousand pounds of mass to move at light speed would evidently cost about as much as the federal debt to a higher power.

Things travelling in the Universe as mass may not be able to go faster than light, yet quantum particles seem to exchange information faster than light when entangled and so the non-physicist wonders why?

One obvious answer is that the waveform of any particle when observed collapses into a special spatial location from all possible spatial locations making a reduction ad absurdum occur exchanging information to the bound particles.

Because quantum particles are a little different than photons-a different class of particles, they may be able to travel through space-time without being subject to the sort of effects that add weight to mass accelerating near the speed of light. Maybe quantum waves are too small to be influenced by gravity. If so one wonders if gravity might not be redistributed by design if information can be exchanged to entangled particles in a one way fashion. Yet that raises the question of can information have weight, add mass to anything or drop into a gravitational field.

The nature of quantum particles as waves that become located particles only when observed-something perhaps like the contact of an infinite line with a sphere at some point along it raises other questions.

What boundaries would exist if any for quantum waves…do they go off into infinity spatially beyond even the mass-energy extent of the observable universe? What force would contain such infinite waves?

Would quantum waves be infinite in all directions or just a few?

The prospects for travelling faster than light have been said to be improbable given the difficulties in reducing a human being to quantum information and reassembling through entanglement somewhere else.

I believe those working on such issues theoretically require that some sort of conventional communication line exist to the entangled location as well as the quantum channel.

One might regard the quantum phenomenon in other, more theoretical parameters than those at present known to us non-physicists. It might be possible to contain quantum information in the quantum realm for itself-perhaps as an echo relocated to another universal location without entangling anything besides information.

The possibilities of interacting with a quantum realm of waveforms of infinite length and uncertain nature from this steady-state realm of larger aggregations of energy waves as mass/matter may be greater than that ordinarily regarded as likely in the realm of popular theoretical physics for non-physicists.

Waveforms of quantum should be thought of as very small-something like beyond the ultraviolet, yet even those would be very much too large for quantum signaling with entanglement. One might wonder if the speed is instantaneous in the quantum realm over any material universal scale because of the difference between the two fields.

Extra, smaller dimensions providing shortcuts through the larger, bulkier dimensions of this Universe (the 3d Universe) are an obvious hypothetical context solution; however that would leave unanswered the speed of light paradox incompletely accounted for.

If a photons is a basic fundamental particle that travels through an electro-magnetic field at a maximum, constant velocity then a basic particle or string travelling through extra-dimensions as an entangled analogue of real-world entangled quanta should be simply occupying a higher, smaller dimensional position from which it descends with observation by scientists into the correct or preferred state of spin. From the smaller, higher dimensions the distance to any location in this Universe of 3D may be trivial. That is basic particles may not travel faster through smaller dimensions; they may travel a much shorter distance.

At least that’s one way of considering the paradox of how quanta may be entangled an exchange information through an unobserved quantum state of uncertainty and be bound together at a distance precluding information exchange at subluminal velocity.

If waveforms of quanta actual exist in smaller dimensions then measuring them from larger dimensions may be challenging and appear to provide slower answers.

One may wonder if ordinary, unobserved quantum waves are finite such as a segment of a line, or if they are of infinite length? Even if there are not extra dimensions an explanations for quantum wave packet signaling faster than light, as well as of the entanglement of quanta remains to be explained.

The ancient world needed its Einstinean Teddy Roosevelt-Ghandi politicians for sustainable local ecological economics- instead hunters safari’d to the Americas and a sportsman’s paradise and wiped out the Saber tooth tiger, Wooly Mammoth elephant, the American lion and numerous others. That was libertarianism at its worst devastating without regulation all available natural resources. The American possum is about the only native creature expanding its range because of a convenient interstate highway shoulder system, and it is a marsupial, I believe.

Plainly the political environment of Eurasia 30,000 years ago was against Environmental Protection. Noah was an environmentalist voice in the wilderness mankind choose to ignore as they pursued bad environmental policy right up to the day global warming sent a flood to destroy human life in some lost world; typical callous disregard for the ecosphere by the politically primitive.

All these people devastating American ecology have relatives devastating the remainder of the world. There is no healthy place left without human ecospheric devastation. Early American immigrants running in relays could run down even the American cheetah and cruelly spear it for sport. The formidable American Bear Giganticus weighing two thousand pounds and running as fast as a racehorse was no match for the cunning killing skills of immigrants adapting to the American hunting preserve. We know how much people like the sport of killing wildlife. Even Queen Elizabeth frequently attended dog vs. bear to the death matches in ye merry old England.

Places without living things like the moon, the leaf cutter sort of human beings conveniently ignore. Like some kind of pre-human ancestor that died out modern humans have revulsion to creating life and healthy ecospheres on lifeless planets and moons. While it may not yet be too late to stop immigration to the U.S.A. and create a sustainable environment and economy, and while the same could be said for Mexico, the riotous ecological drunkenness of Wall Street and the Mayor of Greed may continue to be the unsustainable economic mode of the day.

Possible Pragmatic Political Economy in the 3rd Millennium

As wealth concentrates and the gap between America’s rich and middle class/poor continues to increase developing nations may associate that process with democracy and choose better functioning, more egalitarian nations to emulate. Nations like China and Saudi Arabia without democracy seem to be efficient economically and on the rise.

Popular economic pragmatism in the years ahead may devalue political theory for economic structures and choose to regulate economies through pragmatic intervention that would keep the margin between the richest and the poor within an acceptable range of perhaps two orders of magnitude. Free enterprise rather than state socialism or corporatism would be encouraged. Taxation would be on an as needed basis to keep the government solvent and the financial spatial separation from rich and poor from increasing to unacceptable distances creating oppressive and politically corrupting anisotropy.

The new era of pragmatic political economy would be simultaneously populous and efficient in defending individual liberty, political egalitarianism, ecospheric conservation and recovery and a way of life lifting all the vessels in the harbor when the tide comes in. Some may believe that a society without government is an oxymoron, or a crime in progress cluster, that human beings can have a tax free and ungoverned society only if they are few in number and God's natural larder seemingly boundless proving natural resources.

The new economic pragmatism will experience numerous ideological political challenges in the world ahead if it develops that way as I would guess it will. Individuals require sufficient liberty to invent new productive potential, and society requires enough regulation to prevent political oppression, ecospheric decay and economic regions of dysfunction.

Objective economic analysis is better suited for quantification than political-economic. Like pro sports teams a quarterback or center no matter how good cannot play the game and win alone or while his teammates are wearing rags, starving or benched and observing from the sidelines. The good economic team may pay some of its star players better yet all the team must have pay of a reasonable and dignified scale without degradation compelling them to boo their own teammates with the golden compensation.

The cipher of a Syrian sent by the Corporation deftly took an explosive bolt and fit it into a compound cross bow. Cutting loose the first of four shots across the street to detonate the office windows before the last bolt reached its target deep within the Mayor’s insider securities center the synthetic sectarian assassin from The Old World began his resubmergence into the infinite shadows of the past.

The President realized that a cloud of fiction cyber leads through electronic digital security trails provided synthetic alternative reality matrixes gave him the freedom to choose resolutions from providing unique answers as to what really happened to the assassin of the complex artificial intelligence trading computer in the Mayor’s office.

All the records the Mayor had of insider trading on The Street were destroyed-the real target as the Mayor became a collateralized debt obligation cancelled.

The Syrian cut loose from the rappel line and free falled a refreshing two-hundred feet before opening a parachute that let him sail gracefully to a landing atop a short building.

The Syrian disappeared down inside a door taking off his first mask, stuffing it in his belly bag and soon lost himself in the crowds below. He would need to learn to trust radical gays working like Hitler’s S.A. to makeover the nation’s political elite into a malleable tool workable for The Plan. These days The Plan dominated the President’s thoughts.

“Thanks for the medal Mr. President, I deserve it. Here is my first piece of expert advice; open a war on three fronts and become a strict vegetarian and gun control advocate; show the people your sensitive, nurturing caring side-it worked for Adolph Hitler.”

“Thanks Poiny, a serialized, globalist soap oprah narrative needs good plotting actualization to keep rating up. We earn our beans and bacon with good, five star ratings. There is an election next year you now and its unlikely a new President would keep you in your post for all those post-o pay and perks like I did the guy you’re replacing.”

In a snug walled concrete compound resembling a miniature fortress on Remasembler Street the Syrian felt something like a goat sitting watching old DVDs of himself and wives in a former acting life. Suddenly the quiet of his home company of wives splattered when hell arrived. President Boppo yelled out “Maybelline! Where is that bag of last year’s Tootsie treats at?” in frustration slamming shut another desk drawer.
