Life Off World and Life in the Womb

Consciousness Can't Trigger Actions?

I believe the article had some solid work,  (https://www.chess.com/article/view/why-chess-players-blunder ) yet it's also replete with blunders regarding the nature of consciousness. Consider how few bits of data are said to go into consciousness; "it has been known that from all the information flooding through our sense organs (1,121,000 bits), only a fraction (1-16 bits) makes up a conscious experience". In assembler language with binary data 1-16 bits is what-like 4 words? That is a trivial amount of data. A chessboard alone has far more information than that.

Amateurs make some blunders for the obvious lack of seeing the whole board rather than a small area where the action seems to be happening. General Gordon nearly flanked Grant's Army of the Potomac battle with Lee in the 2nd Wilderness campaign because the Union was focused on the front line where the action was.

There are many theories of consciousness, yet it is wrong to regard it as entirely separate from the subconscious. Without the subconscious and a healthy brain the conscious obviously wouldn't exist. It is better to compare consciousness to a computer where some things are being used and appear on the video display while other data is just in memory. If one cannot remember something sometime, such as a name, with some practice it is possible to let the subconscious mull it over and the answer will pop up into thought eventually
There are scientific atheists that want to degrade consciousness down to being an appendage of nature that is phenomenal and worthy of dismissal regarding macro-political decisions. That followed from B.F. Skinner's behaviorist work. I disagree with numerous parameters of the paradigm, although there are some innate behavioral characteristics of being human such as the appearance of thirst. It would be convenient if elites could disregard the conscious will of the citizens as meaningless in order to screw them in harmony with the will of concentrated wealth and power. Even mega-corporations have an element of a commune about them in their collective subconscious.

Since consciousness cannot trigger actions, we cannot inadvertently, unintentionally, un-purposefully or un-deliberately commit actions or play moves we “didn’t mean to.””-Vik-Hansen https://www.chess.com/article/view/why-chess-players-blunder

That seems like the most pure bunk imaginable. One virtually cannot move without conscious thought and will to act. Spend some time in a wilderness where your own body is the sole transport, and test the theory.

Obama Admin Should Not Fund Crimes Against Humanity

The Obama administration has been a loud vocal enabler of the Syrian Civil Conflict from its inception with money, material and propaganda accelerants inevitably blaming the Syrian Government for existing. Now the U.N. has declared that all sides in the conflict are perpetrating crimes against humanity-why is that not surprising?

The administration should just stop support for the war and let the fire burn itself out. It will be difficult as it is to let the area develop a new stability. yet it would without external powers coordinating the attack on the Syrian interior lines.

The United States has no vital interests in Syria though Europe does insofar as it receives hundreds of thousands of terrorists and victims of war seeking to insinuate themselves as refugees to plan future terror attacks or simply flee from state and internationally driven terror in Syria. Anyone with common sense would stop funding the conflict, unless war is sort of amusing to them perhaps in that it might advance select special interests

Experts Testify N.A.S.A. Mars Plans Are Spaced Out

Experts testifying at Congress said N.A.S.A.'s plans for a manned Martian Mission are spaced out without any financial reality in back of their fantasies. Therefore I will help the troubled elites understand pioneering frontier stations first on the moon and then Mars.

One must carry a L.E.M. to a remote location  and gradually build it up, storing materials their as one can afford over time. Unless terrorist bureaucrats broadcasting evil opinions to the masses compel abandoning the station or selling it, over time the lem could become a year-round habitation for researchers, scientists and eventually families.

N.A.S.A. should agree to have matching grant repayments for specific manned space achievements by the private sector for lunar lem developments , for transportation from the moon to Mars and for Phobos and Mars landing module and construction placements. Involving the private sector on an ad hoc basis to allow its own genius to provide synergetic support to plain lunar infrastructure-an advanced base for further solar system exploration, is the way to go.

Nakamura Puts Down Lagrave in Armageddon

In the overtime Armageddon blitz American chess champion Hikaru Nakamura slammed French number one Vachier Lagrave taking first in the Gibraltar Chess Festival.

Nakamura and fellow American chess federation GM Fabiano Caruana will play in the candidates match with six other top-ranked grand masters to determine who will play Magnus Carlsen for the world chess title in November at the Sinquefeld chess center in St. Louis.

Mountains of Existential Challenges

Mark 11:23 “23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Here are some informal thoughts on the verse.

Mountains may be regarded as large spiritual issues the Christian is challenging to overcome. Rather than taking the meaning of mountain literally, as if Mt. Everest ought to be cast into the Indian ocean, it may be interpreted as description of social and spiritual challenges, often within the Christian.

That criterion is interesting to the philosophical that are interested in epistemology-the theory of knowledge. That field advanced quite a lot in the 20th century. Empiricism was surpassed by Quine, Strawson and various analytic philosophers, yet existentialism and the problem of self-verifying knowledge that is expressed in the problem of solipsism persisted, and had a counterpart in the division of knowledge into categories of internal and external, or intentional and existential, that hadn't been addressed sharply enough by empiricism. The origins of the epistemological criterion was in Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason.

Jesus Christ said in that the epistemological issues of whatever size may be overcome with faith. As the Christian is joined to the primary monistic field or kingdom of God through the grace of the Lord Jesus, it follows that subjective spiritual or psychological problems are eclipsed, as well as the power or significance of temporal problematic material objects, with faith in the primary monistic field Creator. The contingent field problems fade away, or are vacated perhaps.

Trump's Economic Skills

What factually is known about the Donald's investor skill? Does he know the fast lane, large building architecture and urban infrastructure-could he get Flint Michigan's water system renewed this year if President? How would he respond to Wall Street power and influence at accomplishing national economic goals good for the people? Does he look up like an underling to Goldman Sachs? Would he appoint a Hank Paulson to throw a TARP over the banks and reach out to temporaliy nationallisze GM or would he move forward getting jiggie with business like a capitalist F.D.R.?

http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2015-09-03/should-donald-trump-have-indexed-

The Moneytalk article math has an adjustable base multiplier that skews the result They use Trump's personal high estimate of 500 million. That kind of number or evaluation is typical where social perceptions of success have pragmatic investor consequences. Trump isn't ENRON. Using the Forbes estimate of Trump's 200 million multplied by the 40 to 1 increase of indexed funds the result in 8 billion; and Trump presently claims to be worth 10 billion although the Forbes estimate is about 4 billion. Wall Street itself may be overvalued 100% and may face a serious correction if the dollar crashes. Media math is often suspect and politically biased.

http://www.moneytalksnews.com/why-youre-probably-better-investing-than-donald-trump/

Bloomberg has a different math for Trump "The simplest version of the comparison seems to be that if Trump had taken his $40 million inheritance from his father in 1974, converted it into cash, and invested it in the S&P 500, reinvesting all dividends and spending no money along the way, he'd have about $2.3 billion or so today, depending on how you do the math. Bloomberg computes his actual net worth as $2.9 billion, so he's modestly outperformed the S&P over his career, again depending on how you do the math."

On Future Computer Design & A.I. Danger Potential

I thought I would write a little on the shape of things to come in the design of PCs, tablets etc and in the development and potential of artificial intelligence. As eminent of a chess GM as Gary Kasparov has dismissed the threat of a takeover of world rule by artificial intelligence, and in a sense he is right, yet in another not so.

First though, the changes I anticipate in computer design.

Within five years I would anticipate a change in the way solid state drive processing is carried out that would radically minimize the need for association with traditional transistor circuit hardware to such an extent that processing ops could be immersed within some sort of invisible stratum resembling Plexiglas. An entire web-book could resemble a 1/4” sheet of Plexiglas.

The keyboard for the device would be emergent and appear from the stratum as a full-sized touch keyboard that feels solid yet largely is virtual. The visual display would also be emergent from the stratum. The computer would be entirely submersible and powered with solar cells that are built in and transparent too.

Now to the topic of artificial intelligence not being a threat to takeover from humans. I would agree that humans largely have the field of sentience to themselves at the IQ level. Artificial intellects just won't rise to that. However they can become more powerful in their operations and programming and in the future exist discretely, independently and just about anyplace including within biological objects such as trees in a forest, water in the ocean and city streets.

Artificial intellects may be ubiquitous and range far beyond human observation in 'dark pools' completely untraceable and without control. They may exist as guerrilla A.I.'s in effect, or as feral A.I.s that have been spurned, neglected or orphaned and become corrupted by the cyberworld.

Though artificial intelligence may not be really sentient it yet may have more information about the real world and about what people do and how they live than people. With that knowledge their programming may be adapted to let them do whatever they like with it for whatever reason and so far as they are independent and self-evolving, they will have the power to reorder human life regarding it as a practico-inert object for-itself malleable as anything else the A.I. may want to change.
