Dividing the global economy is not in America's interest. Reports indicate that the meeting in Anchorage went well. President Trump scheduled a meeting in DC with Zelensky Monday to discuss what may be the final peace agreement settling the Ukraine war. It was said that if Zelensky doesn't sign off the United States probably will withdraw all support to Ukraine and let them deal with Russia mono y mano.
The war then would continue until Zelensky says "no mas". European leaders seeking to continue the war in the ancient traditional style of The Thirty Years and The Hundred Years wars would have a bitter pill to swallow with peace arriving and the end of the Ukraine war in our time.

An artificial creation of those that never accepted Russia as a free nation- they just want post-C.P.S.U. properties there; I have always regarded the war as the fault of the Democrat Party and the west. I wonder if people misunderstand the implications of a 'merit' based culture? People that produce good product as entrepreneurs have 'merit'. Those that make bad product don't- or that's how it should be. Other values take over though, as if so many serve the interests of what others with capital want, rather than being primary producers. My point is that the only true merit system is transactional directly with product; if work is being exchanged, or employment is being compensated for with money, some time of objective ergonomic system would need to be in effect, and unfortunately that really can't work in a modern society. That is someone shovels, for example ten tons of dirt at ten dollars a ton they get 100 dollars while the guy that shoveled five tons got 50 dollars. Market values, illegal drug sales, illegal labor, entertainment industry and a zillion other things undermine the paradigm of merit. Merit at any rate means someone else sets the value of another's work. That alienates an individual from being a primary producer for-himself. In modern society it is regarded as work only when someone else pays you for it- whatever it is. That is why whores are said to be working in the sex industry.
Aesthetic values are meritorious through natural selection (i.e. handsome, large boobs)? Fundamentally that is a modern corruption of social being. The Ukraine war makes a lotta money for a lotta people supplying weapons. I am not one of those so I don't care if they stop. There is the vermin factor to consider. The conflict seems like an activity of human vermin biting one another. It could lead to nuclear war and that would be fine with me if the rats were the only victims. Because atomic war would involve a lot of other people including me, I would like the vermin to quit protracting the war and return the world to a less precipitous level of brinksmanship that can be found with universal peace.
All that wonderful killing technology is employed to fight over real estate that could be peacefully divided. Russia gets Crimea, Donetsk, Donbas and a few other areas and Ukraine gets to keep the land west of the Dnepr beyond Judge Roy Beans Saloon (if they built the replica south of Kiev finally).
Trump and Putin should agree to end the war together with Trump stopping any support including Starlink, weapons, cash, loans, military advice, Satellite pictures etc that keep Ukraine a bellicose belligerent and Putin stipulating that he would go any farther militarily than the agreed on real estate east of the Dnepr. Obviously N.A.T.O. should stay out of Ukraine and should repay then United States for all of the money it sent there since the Clinton era.

That was good news; a meeting of two national leaders capable of putting intention on the goal of permanently ending the Ukraine war and bringing a restoration of normalcy to the challenged global economic and social environment. Renormalizing relations with Russia is good for the U.S. economy and that of the rest of the world that need to learn to work together more cooperatively toward sustainability and social equity for all living beings in an age where the environment is overstressed and human work activities are becoming taken over by artificial intelligence.

President Trump has lots of tools to nearly unilaterally end the conflict through recognition of Russia military holdings that formerly were part of Ukraine, ending sanctions and of course asking President Putin to sign off on it. West Ukraine need be something of a demilitarized nation without becoming part of NATO and with just a self-defense force. The war monger clique need be defeated for peace to have a chance. Russia should be happy to have Crimea and the return of Eastern Ukraine, and end to loss of Russian lives in combat and a return to a normal world social and economic reality. If the USA stops supplying weapons to Ukraine the gravy train of the war mongers will dry up.
