Lakers Should Trade LeBron and Keep the Young Guys

Lebron James is one good basketball player. He is only good for a couple more years though. If the Lakers trade away their young core of players for one player to help Lebron James get the Lakers to the playoffs in two years they will have nearly zero again and struggle to rebuild. It would be better to trade Lebron James.

For two years James can put one of several teams into the N.B.A. finals. He is worth three younger, good players that would let the Lakers rebuild better. If the Lakers were to send Lonzo Ball with James to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis that would be a good trade for L.A. James might like to win a championship again before he fades away into the after N.B.A. life with Larry Bird and Michael Jordan etc.

The Lakers' management seems fairly poor and unlikely to get two stars to help James get another title for L.A. So they should face the fact that a flop trade would gut the future of the team and when James does retire, leave the Lakers barefoot and toothless.

James might not mind commuting from L.A. for a couple of years to win another N..B.A. title in a third town. No one knew that L.A. had incapable leadership in getting an ensemble of championship players together. Now that the shocking fact is starkly apparent - though miracles do occur- it would be a good idea to get the dust out of their eyes and take a sober look and patiently add a couple of good young stars to build for the future.
