U.S. Administration's Border Policy Disingenuity

"History is Philosophy teaching by examples."--Thucydides

The President makes former President Carter seem like an Ivan Drago on security compared to his own ineffective policy. The Homeland Security tool for the President announced a cessation to their 'catch and release' policy that arrested 160,000 illegals last year and quickly released 120,000.

Evidently the Bush response to criticism of their incompetent border security policy that allows millions to volkerwanderrrung into America each year was the traditional slacker response of doing nothing until absolutely necessary. Paying for air tickets for the arrested illegals will do nothing to halt the flow of illegals into the U.S.A.--and of course Chief Chirkoff announced that a legal temp worker policy would need to replace the deported illegal workers in order that employers that had been employing the illegals in violation of federal law would not be deprived. If G.M. had such federal support perhaps they wouldn't lose billions and billions.

Not until illegal alien immigration is brought to less than 100,000 annually will American workers have a chance to see their wages increase--of course a development that would horrify the administration more than 9-11 presumably. Putting a label of legality on the illegals won't do a thing to put American workers on a fair wage/labor supply-negotiating stance with trans-national and regional employers.

Attrition of illegals from the U.S.A. through voluntary return and so forth would reduce the number eventually...sure they should be deported when caught with a bus ticket to Juarez or Ensenada instead of the budget busting trips to Cancun or Acapulco...a bus ticket back to the border in Mexico is so cheap that the nation loses money on the comparative costs.

The President's policy is just to run up the federal debt higher and make the nation into a sort of sharecropper post-industrialism with trans-nationals owning the nation. Capitalism in neo-corporatist philosophy is only for trans-nationals, workers should have no chance to acquire capital through higher wages and start rival businesses or energy policy. On the subject of Condoliza Rice's curriculum vitae...it's all right for a favorite appointee of transnationals yet not for President.

The nation can't just have specially promoted favorites with no elected political; experience moving into the White House and expect representative government for the people to flourish.

Of the Presidents elected since 1960 only three were directly elected to the office on their own merits...Carter, Reagan and Clinton. The others were Vice President first, or a son of the former President shoehorned into a governorship first and elected initially to the Presidency by special leverage of the Supreme Court (maybe Ms. Myers can help Jeb to get the job someday).

Presidents Reagan and Clinton at least were dynamic guys, and Carter was likeable enough too, although his economic advisers mistimed the job creation cycle needing to coincide with the election year so he lost. With so few prime Presidents getting elected since 1960 the nation has suffered quite a bit. Of course I need to include the dynamic J.F.K. in the group so the total is just four real Presidents since 1960--but he was cut off so quickly that he is occasionally forgettable.
