The Many and The One

Venn diagrams are three comprising one. In extra dimensions they might transcend themselves. A jigsaw puzzle requires many to form one image. Trivial yet meaningful examples. Some of the many could not exist without the one temporarily breaking apart, and those components connecting in new fields from the one cascading new elements until the energy of the many is spent and they return to the one, as if one for-itself had set the span of a yoyo universe. From that singularity transcending possibilities exist even as one potential might be an element of the many for the greatest One of all.

Arab Emirates Tournament; Lakers on Life Support

The Lakers were close all the way yet waited to long to get more scoring from Knecht with 3s.  The defense was good enough. The Lakers need more and consistent points production from a third star if LeBron’s drop in scoring and increase in turnovers is a thing that continues.

If Dalton Knecht’s scoring threes increases and DeAngelo Russell can score 20 off the bench consistently the Lakers may need just one quality point guard like Trey Young to be the best they can be even this year.

Anthony Davis and Christian Koloko would be formidable in the front court, if Koloko can play full games this year after not playing last year because of blood clots. I was bitten in the leg once by a little terrier and that formed a gate in the vein to break and a permanent blood clot to form. Makes life as interesting as being bitten on the wrist drawing blood by a Rottweiler. The Rott bite did no perm damage while the tiny terrier did. Small things can have large consequences. Blood clots are meaningful. I have no idea if Koloko can recover to full health needed for playing 38 minutes

The Lakers should trade five players for a good point guard and fill the empty seats with South Bay Lakers

The Lakers need to show Donald Trump that it is possible for winners to arise from Los Angeles.

The Square of Opposition and Apophatic Theology

It's easy to misunderstand apophatic theology. Humans want to compare things to this or that. About God though the apophatic theologian might use Wittgenstein's "Whereof I cannot speak, thereof I must be silent" (probably an epistemological reference rather than a reference to his British fighter pilot bf while Wittgenstein was in the Austrian army during the First World War).  Apophatic theology relates that "God is ineffable, incomprehensible, and inconceivable, only as He is in Himself, as He is intrinsically."

Popper's falsification criterion is used to determine if a theory is scientific...that is it need be capable of being proven wrong, if it isn't right. Newton's gravity theory was falsifiable and true so far as they went, yet only conditionally so as Einstein's General Theory surpassed Newton's theory of gravity.

https://happenings.lpu.in/newtons-law-of-gravity-proven-wrong/

True scientific theories may be conditional rather than absolute...like incomplete maps of explorers.

Perhaps Plato's Allegory of the Cave has a parallel to Newton's theory so far as science goes, or would if the inmates chained on the floor developed a theory of motion to explain when the shadows would appear that was true. If they predicted the dark demiurges of Mordor would appear through the walls at 1 pm every day and they did not then the theory was false though scientific.

The verification theory of truth is comparable on a square of opposition logically speaking I would venture.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/51/Square_of_opposition%2C_set_diagrams.svg

True Belief is Knowledge

Maybe the kernel of the issue is; can anyone ever have absolute certainty? Probably not. That would be a belief (of absolute certainty)…wait a minute- cogito ergo sum. True belief does require verification.

Human makes speculative formula about supernatural. If x then not x because x equals not x.; find the value of x. Maybe that’s a wrong expression so I’ll try again.

Human makes proposition about supernatural or undefined literal term and factors (rewrites) the expression. The simplification of the proposition is less difficult than multiplying the irrational numbers by half of the value of natural numbers, yet more difficult than deciding if eleatic paradox prime numbers are beyond good or evil. The product is for human consumption as they factor out God from equation and sleep better knowing calculations are perfect and convincing. A is necessarily B because C follows B and A follows C. If that isn’t persuasive enough then…

AI Directing itself to Evolve in Mountains Ranges and Planets

Non-sentient self-reproducing programming that is AI embedded in nature by advanced human intelligence-there is no telling what it might do. Imagine of rocks could morph themselves instantly into whatever the AI mountain ranges permeating them wanted to do. I suppose that’s something possible in a few dozen years. Might lead to wild changes if AI expropriated entire planets for themselves to be and become synthetic a priori thought as in sentient material substance.

England-France May Try to Draw the U.S.A. into World War Three

It's been reported that England and France intend to send 100,000 troops into Ukraine to fight Russia. I doubt if they would try that on their own without a belief that the U.S.A. will step in to back them up. That may be the last plan of co-conspirators with Joe Biden to escalate before Donald Trump takes office in January of 2025.

Born in the U S A

One of the ostensible reasons for a few Western countries sending troops is that Ukraine is losing the war and North Korea has already sent 10,000 troops to participate in the Kursk-Sujha battle. Others have reported that the North Korean troops are actually in Siberia and not participating directly in the conflict with Ukraine. Perfidy seems to be usual for the Ukraine War. One wonders if President Biden is being blackmailed by the government of Ukraine into providing absolute support for the war right up and into the threshold of World War Three.

There has for a long time been a movement to get rid of the peace following the end of the cold war and restore normal hostile relations. Albert Einstein might have said that overall peace is more profitable than war. Of course he didn't say that yet in social media these days it is popular to put a favorite saying of ones over his photo and attribute the quote to him. Peace is far more profitable than war except for select businesses like arms production and sales.

N.A.T.O.'s down side is showing itself in the present Ukraine conflict. It has been trying to expand eastward to threaten Russia after the Cold War ended and President Clinton induced the last Soviet President to give all off the Ukraine to the west as a free state severing the historical relationship with Russia that any reasonably well informed scholar of history would know would lead to war between East and West.

N.A.T.O. obligates member states to fight together f any are attacked. Turkey is supporting war upon Syria presently with rebel attacks on Aleppo, so if Syria counterattacks Turkey N.A.T.O. need go to war? Turkey was the aggressor in this instance, and if they were to attack Israel and Israel counter-attacked the U.S.A. would attack Israel too?

Ukraine isn't a member of N.A.T.O. and would have entirely lost the war without N.A.T.O. member military support already. Settling the war swiftly with peace and a division of Ukraine along value lines along the Dnepr region would be profitable for all. Yet if England and France continue to escalate the scale of the conflict and sent ground forces to Ukraine it is possible that North Korea and even China may be asked to send troops to fight in Europe as well. The United States should remain neutral and continue to try to put an end to the conflict asap. There should be no need to participate in any N.A.T.O. action that is a consequence of any member states being counter-attacked following there provocation by participating in a foreign war against the counter-attacking nation.

I wonder if any of the brilliantly stupid western leaders have contemplated either the harm World War Three could cause even if the United States doesn't participate, or the economic damage to the west that even a few missile attack on European port cities could cause? China would become the main economic engine of the world while Europe becomes embroiled a deep cold slump. Even U.S. LNG supplies would stop if the ports of Europe are obliterated. The United States without Chinese imports would experience a rapid inflationary mileau and would need to transition once more into a manufacturing economy for domestic consumption.

There probably is no way to win a Third World War that would be a benefit for western economies. Escalating the war won't do it. One should at least have a rational victory plan before upgrading war when reason indicates the prospects are generally bad.

It is challenging for independent and neutral observers to support unjust wars, or at least it should be. Russia has a relationship with Ukraine extending back a 1000 years and directly owned Ukraine for most of the past 250 years. Foreign invaders from the west- especially Germany and Poland have long sought to take Ukraine for themselves. The Soviet Union revolutionary government took Ukraine from Russia and briefly sold it to Germany in exchange for peace (The Treaty of Brest Litovsk was in effect a coerced land sale). Like the promised Kurdish homeland promised at the end of the First World War the loss of Russian Ukraine fomented interminable conflicts. Turkey’s invasion of Syria is a way to attack Kurdish rebels seeking to establish an independent Kurdistan. It is challenging to fail to understand the desire of oppressed peoples for freedom, independence and recovery of lost land, even if they are not traditional allies of a nation.

The Oxford dictionary entry for ideaology- "a system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy."

"the ideology of democracy" So an ideaology packages select ideas for the convenience of users. One needs to keep in mind that an ideaology should be less than a weltanshauung. It is convenient in a complex world to organize concepts and ideas into an ideology on occasion. For instance if one is trying to learn about what is wrong with plutocracy or how corporatism and corporatocracy differ from state socialism or communism one may want to have a political ideology that compares and contrasts those systems in their political philosophy tool kit. One can understand ideologies as packages without supporting them oneself. The world would be more anarchic without them in my opinion. When leadership escalates into world war three over Ukraine instead of sharing it between east and west one may wonder about what hidden ideology may exist among western leadership. I find it difficult to imagine that ordinary Brits or French are eager to go to war themselves in Ukraine if 100,000 troops are sent as is being discussed. Possibly the plan made by England, France etc al...

West Euro Plan for Ukraine

If something like an unsigned armistice in place delops allowing all sides to re-equip to join in battle again in a year or two the conflict may be far more violent and expensive than the present limited war. The worst thing about a protracted and expanded conflict for Biden’s War is that millions or billions of poor people could perish as collateral damage from various economic, civil disorder and military overflow of the conflict.

The Fact of Hell

The Revelation describes hell..."It is “a lake that burns with fire and sulfur” (Rev. 21.8)."

Physicists have theorized that below absolute zero lies infinite high temperature. If an unsaved spirit- the natural man is not saved and continues after death; when the universe ends and reaches uniform absolute zero in utter darkness it shall transition to infinite hell. Even singularities are likely to have infinite  heat for lost spirits to anguish in gnashing teeth...Singularities haven't got space-time so the agony would go on forever. Jesus save people from that and takes them to the heavenly realm of God who is spirit.

I asked AI's opinion on the state below absolute zero. It replied; "According to physics, a temperature "below absolute zero" is not actually colder, but rather is considered "infinitely hot" because it represents a special quantum state where the energy distribution is inverted, meaning it is hotter than any positive temperature, even infinity on the conventional scale; essentially, nothing can be colder than absolute zero on the Kelvin scale."

Truth Theories

There are several truth theories. The Disquotation theory of truth is a useful one. Identity theory and correspondence theory are notable. Verification theory is an obvious one. Axiology is the field of value theory. If one has a bad truth theory their values may be off the mark as well. That could be meaningful for understanding. https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/truth/
For the verification theory of truth to be effective, one need have something to verify. Speculation on any concern or whatever one isn’t certain about is natural enough. The first philosophers didn’t know everything about everything that might matter. I believe that remains the situation today, thousands of years later.

Etymology of Concept

The etymology of concept is from conceive. It is to put an idea into a mind. Sentient species might create similar ideas without the idea existing someplace other than as an idea.  Math is an idea

The Lakers need better, more reliable 3 point shooting yet that’s just an idea. Others may have that idea too without it existing someplace independently as in Plato’s realm of forms.

Placing the Crucible in a Science Fiction Story

Should one start a science fiction story with a battle? I read an action novel that started with a brilliant, intensely detailed battle. The hostage rescue team was blindsided in an alley with a hidden .50 caliber machine gun placed by a criminal seeking revenge it turned out, dropping clues for the FBI to recover leading them to the kill zone. The slaughter was described minutely with the agents crawling in hot gravel looking for non-existent cover.

The trouble with that kind of beginning is that the rest of the book couldn’t reach the intensity of the start. The remainder of the story was afterwords.

Detective stories often start with a crime followed with a story to identify the perp. Where to place the crucible in science fiction  I would guess depends on the preferred structure of the plot.

Rectilinear Structures are Heavily Favored

Building non rectilinear structures escalates the cost orders of magnitude. Until recently the math would have been a lot more difficult. Curves are hard for carpenters to calculate. Square footage of various comic sections, how and where to cut, and what to cut with for variegated surface, calculations for interior insulation that’s a reciprocal of diurnal solar exposure, etc are tougher. Building artificial mountain ranges for people to inhabit with habitat for wildlife outside might be easier.

For individuals building complex curvy structures might be more the kind of thing rich people could do. Gunnite spray concrete of course allows complex home structures to go up readily for specialized contractors. Incidentally people with bad knees don’t like stairs.

U.S.A. Doesn't Need to Support N.A.T.O. Members that Attack Russia

The N.A.T.O. treaty the US is signed into should not obligate the. U.S.A. to join into wars and military conflicts started by N.A.T.O. members like England and France that purportedly plan to send troops to Ukraine to kill Russians and possibly pre-emptive strikes inside Russia itself. If Russia counter-attacks France and Britain the US could choose to remain neutral.

Ukraine presently

N.A.T.O. cannot be used to let runt members start conflicts knowing the U.S.A. need intervene on their behalf. Consider the stupidity of the treat in an example

Turkey attacks Israel in support of HAMAS. Israel counter strikes Turkey. Turkey demands N.A.T.O. including the U.S.A. attack Israel.

Russia has a right to defend itself against attack. N.A.T.O. is a defensive agreement, not one of partnership to aggression. If England and France choose to more directly involved themselves in the Ukraine war that’s all on them as independent nations.

Pragmatism and the Ukraine

Pragmatism is selecting something that works and/or is necessary. People can make bad choices though.

Some don’t know what pragmatism is. An example- Act and rule based utilitarianism may be a good theory yet in practice it has a lot of difficulties. The greatest good for the greatest number might require force to implement.

Pragmatism might triage social problems and fix as many as possible with available resources. An ideal approach might ban fossil fuel engines tomorrow, a pragmatic approach might stress support for EVs to eliminate exhaust gases because politically.one would encounter too much protest to eliminating fossil fuel.

It is a complete fiction that pragmatism disregards reality or truth. Lol. The Ukraine conflict may cause a nuclear war. Britain, France and Joe Biden would spend years and trillions of dollars to fund the war and rebuild. Escalating to nuclear war isn’t pragmatic.

A pragmatist would stop the war, share Ukraine with Russia and let the planet get back to working together and move towards environmental economics and justice for all.

The most famous example of pragmatism to solve a problem was that of Alexander the great cutting through the Gordian knot with a sword.

Atheists May Hate Godel's Incompleteness Theorems

I believe the simple explanation for Godel's incompleteness theorems is that there cannot be a set of all sets including itself, with the exception perhaps of God. Einstein and Godel had offices at Princeton. I believe Einstein said he didn't understand Godel's work.

There is an explanation of the first incompleteness theorem.
"The first incompleteness theorem shows that the Gödel sentence GF of an appropriate formal theory F is unprovable in F. Because, when interpreted as a statement about arithmetic, this unprovability is exactly what the sentence (indirectly) asserts, the Gödel sentence is, in fact, true (Smoryński 1977"

There are practical consequences for the demonstration of the incompleteness  or limitations of formal systems. Philosophers at least, as well as computer scientists and mathematicians got more to think about.

The Godel criterion seems reflected in reality at the quantum level in some respects. Even a fundamental particle or wave *in the beginning, requires a precursor outside or before the system starts. Incompleteness exists apparently in the infinities that arise as math physics regress toward the singularity so the model is incomplete.

Alternative Courses to Nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were civilian targets. Truman had different courses to take yet he was a Democrat. Perhaps he could have nuked just one city instead of both. He might have bombed Yokohama harbor for shock and awe and gave the big bad wolf's ultimatum afterward. If he wanted Chinese communist empathy he could have dropped the nuke on Emperor Hirohito.

Because WW2 was the last battle of World War 1 the U S could have stayed out of 1 and let Germany win. The Nazis would never have happened and German aristocrats would have faded out like the British royals. I don't think Germany would have greased the rails for red commie killers to take over Russia.and Rasputin could have led the Romanovs to the Stairway to Heaven.

Alternative fiction courses of history are completely malleable to an author's construction. One should never have taken the branches to war to start with if that's what one wanted to edit post hoc. The Second World War didn't improve world affairs generally except for select expedited liberation movements overall.

The Lakers are Clients of the Nuggets

The Lakers were trounced Saturday by the Nuggets. They had abysmal shooting and benched Dalton Knecht. Knecht probably should start the rest of the season. If he can’t be the third star the team has little chance of reaching the N.B.A. finals. The Lakers can’t always have shooters going 2 for 10 in repeat performances.

They could bring up Olivari from the G league to be the 4th guard and trade Hachimura, Vincent and DeAngelo Russell while they still have good value for a better shooting forward. Christian Koloko, a recent acquisition hasn’t played the past season and a half because of blood clots. Now that he’s recovered he might be a good center sharing the job with Jackson Hayes.

The President's Irrational Ukraine Policy

Nuclear weapons are an existential threat. Presidents are not welcome to egress toward the direction of nuclear war. It's just bad policy that could kill 200 million Americans. President Biden's Ukraine policy is worst case in economic development as well as security. He is not welcome to gamble American lives quite stupidly. He might get with war at best 50% of the economic benefit possible with peace and build long term global insecurity. He isn't competent. I haven't served in the military since the year the cold war ended. I cannot imagine rational people severing Crimea from Russia...that was an importunate misunderstanding of history that changed the world.

Christian and Secular Government misc

Regarding use of nukes in 1945: it wasn’t my choice. As with the impending Third World War, I would have tried different approaches to international relations that didn’t culminate in war. Pres Truman was elected by voters that didn't want more constituents to die if it wasn't necessary. Obviously I wasn’t involved then nor in the Vietnam conflict in making political decisions. Far beyond my social mileau. A post prompted me to reflect on the relationship between the sacred and the profane. Bill Clinton led the profane government for example rather than the sacred.

Augustine wrote about the City of God vs the city of Man. People often. They don't understand the circumstance of man with original sin that last throughout life...it's problematic in a thermodynamics field, and forgiveness of sin by the sacrifice of Jesus. The sin of Christians is covered by the shed blood of Jesus so God doesn't see it, yet while in the world Christians remain human and there is a conflict between the sacred and the profane where all humanity coheres. The profane don't have that conflict if unsaved. Presidents and other leaders revert to normal human conduct common to history when pressed, if they are even saved. The world always needs someone to blame... that's s.o.p. Finding Godly leaders to bring the world to Christ and his ethics when most of the world is lost isn't as easy as training a lion to be a vegetarian

Jesus said that in heaven people neither marry or are given in marriage. What is male and female except for sexual differences of beings for reproduction in a thermodynamics field? An eternal being, God isn’t likely to have a gender. He is in his own class; sui generis, Spirit. Jesus called him Father, and himself The Son. That is a relationship humans do not fully know. It’s easier to learn why gravity was the first force to go its own way after inflation.

Individuals are saved by Christ. All humans are subject to thermodynamics and all that means from energy input to procreation, greed, desire etc Corrupt or misunderstanding Christian leaders can support select secular government actions like war on occasion yet they are far better off simply doing what Jesus instructed in the Bible.

There has been a lot of political tragedy in the world. Secular governments with sovereignty in the west were nearly always independent of Christian leaders. Even the crusades were fought by kings not under direct subordination to a Pope or Protestant leaders.

Was Pope Gregory right in motivating the crusades? He was not a general or ruler of nations that heeded his call. The crusades were a reaction to Muslim invasions of Europe on three fronts. Christians believe God can use secular governments to work his will yet like the free will debate no one can understand the criterion exhaustively.

Secular government leaders are glad to draw in anything that will bring them support. They haven’t over history required urging to increase political power, expand the realm or increase wealth.

God may try to improve the quality of secular governments over time evolving them in accord with a purpose.

King Leopold wasn’t a priest. Neither were Democrat Presidents Tuman, LBJ and Biden. Incidentally some say the Japanese nukes incentivized the Soviets not to continue west in 1945 to capture what Hitler lost. It was a tragic use of technology obviously. It spared 250 thousand US casualties invading Japan and possibly more in Europe. Entirely secular.

Individuals saved by Christ try to follow His way. Results on Earth may vary, though the grace of God moves them forward with eternal life transcending physical death. It isn’t about money though. Matthew 19:24 “And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

An Appearance and Order of Fundamental Forces

I have considered an order of appearance of the fundamental forces recently. Gravity emerged first. One wonders why. It appeared after the inflation, and forces that permitted particles and matter afterward.  Gravity may have stopped inflation when it appeared and let inflation occur before it existed. Gravity may have been produced by inflation. It is interesting to consider the strong and electroweak force; with the latter further divided into electromagnetism, the weak force and the Higgs Field.

The strong and weak forces  each appear when two-dimensional particles become entangled in the Higgs.  The strong and weak forces could be apparent rather than fundamental forces.

It seems as if there is an underlying medium of the Universe continuing from the singularity that isn't gone and is not observable directly.

Gravity though was distributed evenly throughout space-time with inflation and might be like a dark energy cosmological constant trying to return spacetime totally to singularity. It was blown off first and is the weakest force, yet seems like an unwillingly detached property of the singularity.

All Life is Capitalist

Everything in nature is capitalist; they try to get more and expand...even amoeba and communists. Some self-aware primates aren't aware of thermodynamics. It's important for societies to direct that drive to expand into positive political channels letting sustainable development of everyone receive optimal opportunity.

Build Electro-Magnetic Fields From Earth to Proxima Centauri

When an electro-magnetic interplanetary module accelerator is built in the solar system travel will be much faster than with rockets. People could live about anywhere. Solarpumk habitas may fly out toward Proxima Centauri B at half the speed of light eventually. Converting Solar energized laser and particle beams to push charged spaceships, and draw them to places like Proxima in vast right wing emg fields energized with starlight could be free enterprise efforts in a century if humanity can survive till Jan 20, 2025.

Woke and Truth Theory

Axiology and other views need be subjectively held. That is one’s opinion is subjective. Truth theories too have a subjective metaphysical essence. The disquotation theory of truth is pragmatic. I would guess that woke is a package of political preferences more than a philosophical outlook, though the later may exist in an unrooted kind of way.

Does one need purple hair to be woke, and what about the challenges for people with significant hair loss? Maybe in accepting Nietzsche’s Beyond Good and Evil Paradigm it should be remembered that Nietzsche may have been boosted there by an advanced stage of syphilis causing dementia.

There may be different categories of truth references. Disquotation theory can point to God as Truth in itself for example within a language list without disquotation theory being the same kind of truth.

Society requires objective rules to function well. So many people require traffic signals-even the woke, to go about their business and reduce unintended collisions.  Civil governance is required regardless of one’s opinion on truth theory. Democracy has an implicit pragmatic operating system that cannot withstand its abandonment for the notion that truth is subjective.

Einstein’s wild hair and relativity theory may have stimulated a cascade of woke emulators.  I believe that Einstein on truth theory might have opted in for an objective basis for space-time and said that human statements about it can be true or false.

About Logic

A silly, grossly invalid syllogism.

premise 1  All men are mortal
premise 2  Janey Socrates is not a man
Conclusion-  Janey Socrates is immortal.

Mark Bendig Not sure what you mean. It remains entirely wrong. There are 256 possible forms of syllogism and just 24 are valid. People know that faulty premises make even logically true forms yield wrong conclusions.

The logic of your argument is implicitly invalid. Your conclusion doesn't follow from the premises...it contradicts them, so it's ian nvalid form.

Someone wrote" P1. If god does not exist, objective morals do not exist.
P2. Objective morals do exist

C. Therefore god does not exist."

One can recapitulate it better like this; If A then B...Not B...A

An arithmetic statement like this has the same form...

premise 1  If Fred goes to work Fred gets 5 dollars

Premise 2.  Fred did not go to work

Conclusion.   Fred gets 5 dollars

Your's is a biconditional statement with wrong premises.. One can make up a valid one of course like ""A number is even if and only if it is divisible by 2" and test various numbers with it or give a specific example of a number that is odd.

Premises A and B are faulty and the conclusion invalid. It is like building a truth table with Boolean Algebra and dumping wrong values in it, if that were useful. Although besides computer logic maybe people don't really care. 'Boolean Expression Q = A.B'. is meaningless to most. Maybe logic gates are like propositional logic with however many test conditions put together in valid constructions.

Some define morality as being an actual description of human behavior perhaps written in symbolic form. The ten commandments were objective morality as a divine command yet people didn't follow them well. God complained about what the ancient Jewish tribe actually did. What they did was their morality.

Morality

It was said that morality is a description of how people and society actually conduct themselves in social behavior. One might then ask why people and societies behave as they do? Such as escalation to nuclear war instead of balancing a federal budget; is the former moral behavior and the latter immoral?

Some Wonder About Shi'ism

There are courses on comparative religion. One may read history too and study topics on Islam from the foundation and rivalry of successors to Muhammad resulting in the killing of Hussain (cf if disciples of Jesus had killed one another to become head of the church after Jesus) to the purge in Iran of Zoroastrianism to the hidden imam and especially interesting is Shi'a eschatology comparable to that of pre-tribulationist Christians because it was inspired by the New testament hermeneutics of some, not all Christians of the era.

Innate Knowledge of God?

Chomsky and Everett' debated over the question of grammer being innate for humans and didn't have a decisive outcome.

Maybe it was surpassed by an emergent paradigm. It did at least have few complex concepts strung together in support of unobservable points although one could certainly create various tests for humans and apes.

The way humans apprehend and appearance of God in any form including communication is entirely live and up to God. He has communicated with individuals in different ways history recounts. The book of Jeremiah has a passage where God said that everyone will know him:  31-34"And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord.’ For they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,” saith the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

In Jeremiah where God said that his people had forgotten him, that probably meant they had fallen away from a right relationship and worship. 15"15 Because My people hath forgotten Me, they have burned incense to vanity; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, on a road not cast up,".

One might argue comparably that humans have no innate knowledge of morality or the differences between good and evil. Strong opinions exist on each side.

Some might wonder if humans have an innate sense of the passage of time or if it is simply biological challenges that press that are the real time experience. Then scientist theorize that time be an apparent phenomenon of quantum entanglement and might not really exist. More options on shifting sand. https://www.thebrighterside.news/discoveries/time-may-be-an-illusion-new-study-finds/

Phenomenalism and Realism

Quine said he was a physicalist once when asked. Yet he’s also a realist concerning math. I believe people are entanglements in the Higgs field as is all matter. There isn’t anything unless it’s spirit that would outlast the structural change of the field…maybe not even information.

Eventually, like one of those disappearing knots everything returns to two dimension massless waves with probabilities of being somewhere and that may become just space and nothing.

Once after an  abcessed tooth developed I discovered that eating chocolate would make me lose balance and I would slowly fall to the ground tilting left with my mind seeming to break apart into quarters. It was a terrible experience that would go away when my head was on the ground.

That made me aware of the phenomenal temporality of mind.  I went to an orthodontist and got the tooth pulled. The experience disappeared yet I remember.

In late October 2018 I took a 13 foot boat south from Juneau 160 miles with a 2.5hp outboard. Wind and waves came up in Stephens Passage/Taku Inlet and I had to basically surf the vessel across crests and trough side seas for an hour until nearing Slocum Inlet. I prayed all the way across. It was phenomenal. One error and the boat capsizes in cold water, yet it worked out dry. That too made existence seem more phenomenal, comparing analogously a ram entangled in a bush to life entangled in the Higgs Field.

So I have faith in God yet still have interest in ‘reality’ and its nature. Having read Plato as my first philosophy I regard the realm of forms as a kind of template for quanta so far as humans can consider it. I tend to leave the location of data storage for blueprints with God for I have no idea where actual abstract universals would be physically stored in this Universe.

Husserl wrote 'Logical Investigations'. A tome on philosophy as rigorous science. I am not sure that he achieved proving the point. He did create phenomenology though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Husserl

Is Money Necessary for a Philosopher

Philosophers can live like Diogenes and be indifferent to economic concerns while considering that Jesus said not to worry about material things.  There may be a benefit to viewing society without being owned in effect by corporatism or teacher’s unions. Cynics needed a bit of grace to in an era when even a Roman Emperor like Sulla could die from having his guts fall out from worms. If everyone is driving an auto in during the Anthropocene isn’t it better to walk more than average?

Mexican Loss of the West

Mexico claimed the Pacific Coast of North America yet couldn’t defend it’s claim. They had revolted against Spain yet without understanding the dynamic tension between rival claims on the land of the American west.

California was. run by Mexico 24 years before Californians revolted. In the meanwhile in 1836 Russians built a colony at Ft Ross in Sonoma county. The Bear Flag Republic is comparable to the Republic of Texas that revolted too.

If Mexico had recognized Texas’s indepence the Mexican-American war might not have followed in which it lost the rest of the west except for areas ceded by the Gadsden Purchase. Britain had also sought California yet after the war of 1812 turned its attention further north. Britain contested with the USA to set the boundary. Russia sold Alaska to the USA to prevent it from becoming part of British Canada.

U.S. Grant fired artillery from the second floor of a building on the campaign to Mexico City. The USA could have made Mexico a part of the USA back then. The states are supposed to join voluntarily though. Maybe Mexico should petition to join today and share rem and the 34 trillion dollar public debt.

Biden Intent Seems to be an Upgrade to N.A.T.O. War vs. Russia

Ukraine has begun using American and English missiles to attack Russia. The President appears to intend to provoke Russia to retaliate against England and the U.S.A. in order to bring N.A.T.O. into the war. I repeat that the President seems incompetent in his job performance or is totally sold out to a Ukraine first policy.

Response from Russia

Seemingly he has no wish to allow the President-elects peace plan to end the conflict to have a chance of seeing the light of day.

Noah's Flood May Have Happened with Climate Change

I tend to regard the flood story as entirely true. It is consistent with a first civilization located somewhere along the Persian Gulf being catastrophicly inundated by a late Wisconsin era sudden sea level rise. Perhaps that mud brick city state was located on a sand spit or other seaside location where fishing and trade was especially good. People still build in flood prone areas. The sea level was about 200 feet lower in that era. Melting glaciers upstream, climate change, heavy rains, slow moving  typhoons in combination may have drowned the world those people new entirely and taken Noah's vessel upstream toward. Urartu. Ararat was a later Hebrew transliteration of Urartu. A broad flood in the Mesopotamian lowlands perhaps as far back as 12,000 BC is credible for me.

Reason and Emotion

Emotions tend to fade into the background when one discovers that they don’t make a difference to reality physically. Harsh climate, weather, freezing, starvation rough seas, persecution and other forms of challenges can only be overcome intellectually rather than emotionally. The world doesn’t care at all what one’s emotions are, so why have them at all, is a paradigm with a substantive measure of validity.

Perhaps one may allow love of God to be the background emotion for detached reason, and care generally for the good of mankind

Terminated Nascent Dynasty (a poem)

Do Humans Have Innate Knowledge of God?

Chomsky and Everett’ debated over the question of grammer being innate for humans and didn’t have a decisive outcome.

The book of Jeremiah has a passage where God said that everyone will know him: 31-34″And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord.’ For they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,” saith the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

In Jeremiah where God said that his people had forgotten him, that probably meant they had fallen away from a right relationship and worship. 15″15 Because My people hath forgotten Me, they have burned incense to vanity; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, on a road not cast up,”. Human knowledge is imperfect and concerns temporal and phenomenal.

It is more reasonable to start with monism rather than pluralism in the beginning. Algorithms and other parts are pluralistic. If the Universe was initially an existing slum- say, a huge war had left it in bits and pieces, something great might have been built from misc algorithms that whirred and hummed efficiently. The Triune God notably avoids the Monism/Pluralism duality through being one yet three simultaneously. Information of everything possible is reducible to less than zero dimensions at singularity for omniscience in-itself.

Mind, Matter and Analytic Philosophy

Is there an abstract world such as exists in imagination or a Platonic realm of ideas? Alternatively a tie coat.might exist in language to cover the world with solar voltaic paint metaphorically speaking. The point where mind and conscious, abstract thought merges with matter would be insensible and non- sentient. Sentience in the border would discontinue. Quine”s analytic approach is still valid regarding epistemology paradigmata. People do perceive matter in their own way. Matter fir-itself is probably completely dark.

There are some vicious attacks on Analytic Philosophy. I found a reference to APS- the immune syndrome attacks healthy cells. Ad hominems do that; lysergic attacks. Analytic philosophy isn’t psychotic. Ayer should have thought of that as a defense for empiricism. Quine’s reasoning seemed correct on language to me. Ontological relativity and other essays was a great collection. Maybe from the Tarner lectures. The meanings of words have nominal values with use and can evolve or disappear rather than last forever in a realist sense. Kripke had a neo-realist opinion that was reasonable too. Neither were the least psychotic.

Bringing naturalist epistemology into the discussion was helpful. Apparently Quine is credited with inventing the term  I need to read more on that subject and discovered much material. I tend to view the human experience as one of existing within quantum fields providing sensations for sentients composed in them. https://iep.utm.edu/nat-epis/

Quine’s point of view is based on logical analysis of language and ideas about it including the concepts made with language about ‘reality’. I agree that after invalidating empiricism it just left matters there instead of providing a replacement model. Ideas arise in mind rather than in sensations though sensations may  prompt ideas

Charles Sanders Pierce invented pragmatism. C.S. (pronounced purse). He had an interesting life and was fired from a teaching job at Johns Hopkins for marrying a Romani.

There is use of Pierce's scientific method criteria in contemporary applications in programming and tech

People have commented it is similar to the OODA loop.

On mind Pierce considered ideas to form in a trielectical evolution psychologically.

Perhaps he was influenced by Hegel- that isn't likely though.

https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/peirce/#:~:text=So%2C%20as%20it%20turns%20out,greatest%20lower%20bound)%20in%20C.

He ended up living "in near penury". I wonder if the Quine-Putnam 'indispensability argument to categorize math as realist is an example of pragmatic reasoning.

The Drowning Man and World War III

Nietzsche got the idea of eternal recurrence one night walking along the shoreline of Lake Lucerne. He kicked a stone on the beach, a stumbling block as it were, and had his great notion that he had lived the scene and life infinite times before just so. He probably had advanced syphilis at the time and might not have tried to save a drowning man being a superman in his own mind maybe, for being aware of the recurrence and transcendence of morality becoming beyond good and evil. Perhaps a student of 19th century German romanticism was a skeptic until contacted by an operator claiming to be from the future.

https://youtu.be/_h-H3t6nWyw?feature=shared

The operator gave him instructions then returned to his own space-time of origin. The rich person- possibly a woman, man or eunuch sitting on the beach in a splendid chair perhaps brought by porters, may have provided extra motivation for the naked guy to rescue the drowning man perhaps knowing that ten years in the future the drowning man would invent a time travel loophole to the equations of general relativity and send an operative back to 2024 to stop Joe Biden from starting World War III before he left office . The nuclear war created nuclear winter and 5 billion people died.

The frantic unclothed dude swimming in the dark cold water  grasped the drowning man in a headlock from behind and begins side stroking to the distant beach as his strength wanes. The rich guy, seeing that the rescue might not work dives into the fray fully clothed ruining his custom made jimmy chu shoes yet soon grabs both wet rats and pulls them ashore. His 7 foot height let him go 100 feet out yet be able to touch the bottom of the lake that helped ease the intervention.

Ashore he took his basketball and walked away into the starry night leaving the two soaked and gasping men in the sand.

The Election Choice of Cold or Hot Death

The recent Presidential election was a choice between nuclear winter that could end life on Earth soon after WW 3, and global warming that could end life on Earth in 175 years. So voters chose to fix the first crisis, although Joe Biden might get the below zero thing that lasts for years going anyway. There is irony in that choice.

The Analytic/Synthetic Distinction and Epistemology

Quine and Strawson; analytic philosophers, tried to model language and logic in an epistemology context yet not so much of the world.  Empiricism tried to make a direct relationship between thought, propositions, and the material world Cf A.J. Ayer- 'Language,Truth and Logic'.  Quine refuted the relation in The Two Dogmas of Empiricism. Skepticism about knowing reality comprehensively is generally on the same side of epistemology as Quine concerning the analytic/synthetic distinction.

A.I. uses formal symbolic logic developed in part by analytic philosophers who were logicians obviously. Yet I would venture that the philosophical justification is found elsewhere in philosophy for explaining realty. Possibly that is pragmatism and quantum theory fused with other speculative cosmology and physics. A.I. is fascinating because it can directly be formed with human authored language and exists in the real world, albeit without sentience. If it had sentience it would have an even worse analytic/synthetic distinction paradox than humans.

What works in explaining the heteronymous phenomenality of mind and reality... a kind of ambiguous duality, is analytic philosophical deliberation on mind, language, prositional logic and the quantum 'other' world.

Aspects of Original Sin

I believe it's thermodynamics expressing the remedy for containing unbridled and willful disobedience. The form of humans embedded in thermodynamics fields reflects drives to input energy for expansion (eating); sex, will to power etc  are thermodynamics categorical imperatives. That brings all sorts of sins naturally i.e. murder, cannibalism,  theft adultery, slavery etc.
Amoeba don't have the sophistication for sins as humans, and they are stupid and innocent of moral culpability,  yet they share select thermodynamic requisites for existing with humans.

Tyndale, the Lollards and the Protestant reformation followed after the dark ages. The printing press was invented to publish the Bible and became the advanced tech tool for accelerating the pace of education  catalyzing technology's progress. Before that Christians laboriously copying or writing manuscripts were, I believe, the primary  leaders producing works for literacy for the west during the dark ages.

Removing Pres Biden From Office for Incapacity Might Solve the World War 3 Issue

Pres Biden may think he is on a crusade to keep Europe free of Huns, Almohads, Atheists, communists or whatever. He is the first President I feel should be removed for incapacity...maybe dementia... Recall that he can't remember his time as VP.  I would prefer to gamble on Harris being able to go 8 weeks without starting WW3 than Biden.

Stuff for Not Getting Lost

Before GPS it was easier to be lost. One should keep a KJV small military new testament, some trail mix, a cell phone, quart of soda and a poncho in a rucksack if one needs more.

There are several apps for hiking and bicycling maps that show you where you are. If camping in an area with fire ants get a small tent at Walmart to sleep in and throw a bunch of anti-ant powder under and around it. For warmth buy a 10 hour burning iron file hand warmer.  Put it in a shirt pocket. For hygiene in the field isopropyl alcohol is an expedient replacement for 30 gallon showers.

Siberian Unicorns Failed to Reach Noah's Ark

Siberian unicorns died out about 13,000 BC. They were enormous shaggy rhinos with a huge single horn. I believe though that the flood of Noah covered the entire world of civilization in Mesopotamia located below the present sea level of the Persian Gulf that has risen 200 feet since the Wisconsin ice age ended. Many ancient people described the world as the area one could walk across in three days. Language meanings change over time, although some are linguistic realists instead of nominalists. Climate change killed the northern unicorn though Indian rhinos classified as unicorns still exist.

Engineering and Scripture

The Bible has provided opportunities for deliberation of scholars from numerous fields. Solomon’s Temple, The Ark, the pool of Bethesda, Jericho, Meggifo and innumerable sites provide engineers and archeologists challenges to investigate and corroborate scripture that is the source of Christian theology. One may use astronomy and physics to consider sundry solar and seller phemona, marine biology and history to consider paradigms of Jonah being swallowed by a whale  or fish and living three days in it before the creature puked him upon a beach, etc. Yet futurist engineers might consider what a Multiverse would be like structured within the mind of an omniscient, Omnipotent eternal God who has created all such components before local time within them.

Structural engineering can replicate with models numerous ancient structures that no longer exist. The first tower in human history was built, I believe, in Jericho about 9000 BC. Its purpose isn’t clear yet it could have been a pulpit for a descendent of Noah to tell people about God and to help them with agriculture community coordination. Engineers can even research prehistory and that information is useful for interpretation of Scripture and understanding ancient times better.

Forces of Nature at Time=0 Like a Russian Kachina Doll

The universe may be compared to a Russian kachina doll with four embedded forces arising from a singularity. Gravity was the first to peel off, and it may have dispersed with space-time hyper-inflation along with the other, smaller forces, more or less evenly.

Simultaneous implosion and explosion faster than light, like Russian kachina dolls forces appeared from singularity. Gravity first, strong second, electroweak third. How did different forces appear from one substance if not for ordinal reductionism. Maybe the FTL era was to allow uniform dispersion. Ideas?

The strong, electroweak and the Higgs appeared in rapid succession. There was a scalar cardinality in the appearance of forces   One couldn't have all of the fermions in just one quadrant of the Universe  Space-time time nothingness may be where everything originated appearing from the Universe as will and idea of God. The Unified field at space-time=0 was expressed as Word.

The unified field and black holes are prime examples of the tendency toward monism. The Universe mechanics are perhaps far more strange than imagined with real nothing inexplicably expanding into spacetime throwing off four fields (gravity first) and expanding faster than light briefly to evenly distribute the fields. The tree branch model is popular yet only one model. It need beg the premises of the singularity though, and what occurs within doesn't, it because the math doesn't work at that point? Time is possibly just a contingent fact of entangled quanta. Tegmark's view was that all possible universe may already exist and mind switches to the right one. That follows Everetts no waveform collapse paradigm for a many worlds model.

Pres Biden Might Create Unicorns and WW 3 From Nothingness

People say that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Yet it has been pointed out that energy is a property of matter. More correctly it is a measurement of the ability to do work rather than a thing-for-itself. Like nothingness it cannot be created or destroyed. It is like arguing that a unicorn cannot be created or destroyed; except for President Biden, who might create unicorns out of thin air like World War Three (he just authorized Ukraine to attack Moscow and deep inside Russia with US provided missiles).

Without clearly defined lines for 64 squares chess would be difficult, although fuzzy logic might help solve problems of fuzzy chess boards in nature.

America's Lunatic President Authorizes Zelinski to Attack Moscow with U.S. Missiles

To celebrate the Sabbath Pres Biden gave President Zelinski a green light to attack Russia with USA supplied Long-Range Missiles. He should be impeached post haste lest he authorize nuclear war as well.

Some US provided weapons will be used to attack Moscow. ATACMS missiles fill out the ensemble for escalation

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/17/us/politics/biden-ukraine-russia-atacms-missiles.html

ATACMS have range of 190 miles and can carry nuclear warhead. The Army has a newer weapons system to replace ATACMS so Pres Biden is dumping the weapons with 2 months left in office. He does have one last chance to create World War Three after all.

President Lunacy will provide other weapons to attack Moscow.

The prospect of World War 3 catalyzed by a US President that may think he is on a crusade like the recoquista of Iberia is not silly. Megadeth is not silly. The conflict could yet be resolved by rational leaders sharing Ukraine with Russia. The blind are leading the blind.

Border Security 2025

Should get more bang for the buck and combine fresh water making canals filled with saltwater letting sunshine evaporate and transparent roofs capture condensing fresh water serve as Mexican border security barriers. Fresh water is valuable in the desert. Fences are sterile and easily breached. When fences become obsolete fresh water making desalination canals will continue to have value. Stop the senseless, myopic deficit spending waste.

If engineers on the US side prove up the concept and produce millions of gallons of fresh water from salt water piped uphill to Deming New Mexico from the Pacific Ocean it is probable that Mexico will ditto the project to generate water on its own side of the border. The Rio Grande river has a pitiful quantity of water even at Albuquerque

Progressive-Regressive Coins

Does society actually progress and do progressives actually serve as counter-cyclical regressive? Some would consider real progress to be insinuation of society into the environment as symbiotic agents with physical structures improving in form and function. Society should have free non- polluting new forms of mass transportation and local efficient ergonomic pathways while there is zero involuntary employment in the nation. The latter is a source of needless social expense and waste.

So far as I know progressives are for concerns like abortion,  homosexuality and loose borders not adding up to a progressive agenda so much as a debauched mode of neo-socialidm unsupported by tax increases for a sustainable federal budget.

Vaccines against the plague require intelligent investment of resources. Loose border security requires more drug rehabilitation and anti-crime costs than detract from development of vaccines required to prevent deaths in epidemic events. Pneumonic plague vaccines are only under development in the west; "live, attenuated vaccines and recombinant protein vaccines have been developed to prevent the disease". Even during the cold war communist scientists labored to make a plague virus small enough that it could be effect dispersed from the air and inhaled. Bioprepart's research was not lost  Real conservatives cannot afford to be negligent on biological defense against preventable viral infections.

College Education: Training to Keep People Stupid So They Can't Figure out How to Revolt?

College education provides tools for thinking. Some of the practical get valuable training that pays well after graduation or even before. Anything medical, engineering or science pays well...it isn't philosophy. One may learn vast quantities of stuff that doesn't count for practical training at all. It's worth learning yet not any kind of training that has compensatory prospects.

An individual can build his own educational sandwich selecting what he wants in the USA as if he were ordering at Subways. Before during and after college there are ten billion books to read for-onself if intellectually famished. There are lots of free courses with educational value on-line at Coursea.org and elsewhere... democracies love to have educated people. The trouble is the financial opportunity cost is high for taking the time without pay to pursue that instead of getting skills training and a job that pays a livable wage.

Ca the US Medical System be Improved?

It tends toward being too expensive. Billing is also normally f'd up by agencies external to the medical side. The entire world is not provided basic health care as might be possible if advantaged thoughtful leaders found a way. Walk in treatment for poor homeless Americans without enough sedentary time in state rootedness to qualify for Medicaid should be a minor existing exclusion easy to fix.  Biden-Harris had no interest in that

Reply to an Anti-Christian Blaming Christians for the World's Troubled History

I enjoyed reading general history for a few decades along with philosophy. The ancient world was certainly tough, so much so that many moderns can’t understand it. Life was short; no treatment for cancer, appendicitis etc. At Gettysburg examination of skulls showed that 90 percent of the soldiers had abscessed teeth. A Philistine site excavation showed that a huge percent of people had died of head wounds and it wasn’t a battlefield.

Mercy killings for disease and bad law enforcement was a way of life. One needs to be specific about particular historical events and issues if one wants to have good understanding. Modern history videos make learning easier. Charles Martel at Tours Zheng H, Shaka Zulu, Marius and Pizzaro are a few salient leaders to consider.

When I scored 99 percent ranks on CLEP college history exams I had prepped reading for years and travelling to Europe to look around. Many people don’t understand history more than superficially. Most of those warriors would have died of natural cause by the age of 40. As late as the First World War 16,000 soldiers died from infected blisters and blood poisoning. I had a red streak going up my leg from an infected blister at air assault school I got that fixed in Seattle with antibiotics before visiting Berlin in winter of 1987. The international monetary fund net there later before the fall of the wall. It was always about money, land and power.

Writing about history can require volumes. I wrote a few million words on contemporary events and often, in the first twenty books, wrote about ancient history to 1648. I wouldn’t agree with your ideas regarding European or American history, yet am aware that millions have died in cultural encounters- in the past usual amongst illiterate people. They were often fighting for land and political power rather than theological differences even though leaders had expressed allegiance to this faith or that.

The present war in Ukraine is a case in point; there are sectarian differences between the belligerents yet the war is over land and political power. Educated Western leaders should have known better yet acted dumb and dumber since the Clinton administration. Conflicts can be massive and out of scale to initial causes.

When Turks wanted to capture Constantinople they catapulted plague infested rats over the walls to kill the people inside the city. They probably hadn’t intended to kill 2/3rds of the population of Europe. When Spanish and Portuguese explorers first visited South America they might not have known that European viruses would erase a civilization up the Amazon within 20 years. Exploration of the new world was prompted by curiosity, as search for knowledge, new routes, land and power yet not primarily by religion. Spain sought gold and found it. 1492 was the year Spain expelled the last Muslim invaders from Iberia and sent Columbus over the ocean.

Humans have original sin and their political works often have reflected that in conflicts. Some would like to deny the existence of God in an effort; a futile one, to acquire themselves. Only through the blood of The Lord can a human be saved from that guilt

And lblame for the Inquisition...

The State executed or imprisoned captives for The Inquisition in accordance with local laws. The Catholic Church examined them to determine if they were Catholics or had foreign allegiance as some kind of heretic. US social median comprised predominantly of Democrats, atheists and wokistry purged conservatives and Christians from social media as best they could as heretics to Democrat Party political goals with less violent means since the Obama administration. The Inquisition was probably a motivation for the separation of church and state centuries later in the US Constitution by Protestant founders.

People need to learn from history and improve upon it. Protestants were also purged in the era. You might read Foxxe’s Book of Martyrs to learn of The St Bartholomew’s Day massacre and other events. The Habsburgs were trying to retain control of Europe and the Church was resisting reform from Protestants even as Mongol and Muslim invasions were being repulsed from attacks on Europe and Christiandom.

Illiterate peasants and opportunistic leaders often couldn’t discern the differences between theological points in Latin edition books they had never read and the sword points of foreign invaders; that is the peasants being killed by invaders with different religious beliefs were killed by swords rather than ideas. Spanish conquistadors had 500 years of war in their own country for practice getting rid of Muslim invaders as the inquisition commenced. Intolerance of foreign allegiance was realistic politics of that time.

People have original sin and only slowly discern the way of Jesus as far as numbers go... if they are blessed. Humanity is somewhat crude regarding environmental economics and Christian ethics including many of those affiliated with religion. Society in history is a work in progress.

The Origin of Religions

There is a difference between religion, God and mankind’s relationship with Him. Having lost their relationship with the one true God, mankind tended toward paganism as a kind of physics to explain existential phenomena like thunder (thor), war (mars), and misc things. Romans had a god to explain anything. So did other societies.

I believe that the term religion shares an etymology with allegiance at some point. Minions easily become allegiant to an idea or organizing principle with power. Politics can become a religion- maybe woke qualifies as a temporary disposable religion of shared rem.

Philistines had myriad false gods though animism was prior to bigger false gods. Shinto had spirit gates- tori where spirits could land, Romans had Janus the door goddess.

At Mecca there were many pagan faiths and Muhammad’s father was the Keeper of the Kabba. When he lost his job and was purged his son syncretized Judaism and Christianity into a religion and conquered Mecca purging his late Dad’s enemies and paganism for necessarily intolerant monotheism with himself as speaker of the monotheistic diety. Christ is the only way to God, for he is God.

Voltaire believed in God yet thought he has a non-interventionist policy for the fallen . Voltaire thought people should fix things themselves. Perhaps that includes a balanced government budget. He said; ""If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him" ('Si Dieu n'existait pas, il faudrait l'inventer')."

I researched this years ago before A.I. I asked ChatGPT to simplify the issue. it wrote; "Yes, the words allegiance and religion do share a distant etymological connection, though they refer to different concepts today.
Allegiance:
The word allegiance comes from the Old French ligeance (which means "loyalty" or "fidelity"), derived from the medieval Latin ligantia, meaning "the state of being bound." The Latin root is ligare, meaning "to bind" or "to tie." The term originally referred to the bond or duty of a vassal to a lord in feudal times.
Religion:
The word religion comes from the Latin religio, which has an uncertain exact meaning but is often associated with the concept of "reverence" or "obligation to the divine." It's generally thought to derive from the verb religare, meaning "to bind" or "to tie," which is also the root of allegiance. The idea is that religion involves a bond or tie to a higher power, much like allegiance involves a bond to a sovereign or ruler."

Individuals and societies adapt to environmental challenges, sometimes rightly and other times not. If they were all in one homogenous empirical experience of living in my opinion the results for afterlife fate would still differ from one soul to the next. For example, if the entire population lived in a repressive totalitarian social environment for a century and atheism was the official doctrine some would be saved even if most went to hell. People are saved through grace- God selects the elect.

Strength of a State

One might want to define strength for this context and decide if it is in comparison to other states. Law is just one element of a state.  Type and effectiveness of government, economic system, environmental management, education, military, non-governmental organization quality and quantity and relationships with other states are a few of the many elements determining the strength of a state.

Law is not a two-dimensional governor and ruler. Law is an arbiter and enforcer of social boundaries necessary to let individuals be self-determining. It can also be used to stop individual self-determination as in totalitarian states.

Logic is a discipline and tool for reasoning. Classical and symbolic logic are useful. Star Trek's Spock logic brought a lot of people to a warped notion of what it is. Emotion is non-rational though not necessarily bad. Children excel at emotion before reason. I think what is useful for mitigating the environment crisis is education and intelligence in the masses to get understanding for political support.

The mass extinction of the Anthropocene era eliminates most life eventually. It is an event of global habitat decline for life including humans. Chemicals and micro plastics in water, global heating, oceanic acidification... there are so many growing environmental challenges most leadership disregards that some people like Jacque Cousteau and James Lovelock said some years ago that humanity has just about 200 years left before civilization collapses and after that perhaps all human life.

Economic competition demands evaluation of others. Comparing abilities of others is as basic as private property in a capitalist economic system. Christian ethics are less judgemental, yet even sports requires evaluating competition. In a job app for example, people present the best appearance they can. Then a personnel manager compares resumes and hires the most suitable person. A more inclusive economic system could be made with less rigorous comparisons perhaps if broader social goals were common and any body could fill the role.

A Few Points on Cosmology

God is eternal and Earth is temporal. Two-dimensional waves embedded in the Higgs field get an apparent 3rd dimension. Matter is made of fermions and force carrying particles like photons are bosons. Space-time itself may be the source of gravity. Temporality and thermodynamics… Nothing that is matter is eternal. All of the dispersion of the original unified field in it’s sundry forms changes. Information may be eternal though, in some way…Shannon entropy or otherwise with God.

Why suffering exists? The coefficient of adversity is natural being alive. It varies in quality and quantity. Adam and Eve had zero adversity before the devil led them woke.

I lean toward Augustine's belief that human nature is totally depraved.God is perfect. Fallen mankind in a thermodynamic world/universe has an opportunity to be saved and that's what matters. If man lived forever without Christ they would create hell for others. Death limits the ability of mankind to do evil into others. There are acts of kindness sometimes. Those are phenomenal.  The Universe physically presents a coefficient of adversity. People working together sometimes can overcome challenges so perhaps humanity learns something about caring for other before they go to hell or heaven as the case may be.

Bishop Berkeley's Idealism does not postulate that individuals create their own reality, just that the experience of reality could be like an illusion, or a holographic appearance created by God. For Berkeley, the individual views the world as did Sartre in Being and Nothingness.

The Energy of Space-time?

People are part of space-time. They do not possess it. Humans are privileged or, alternatively penalized to experience time.

Energy may be a measure, yet it can refer to mass changing form;  E = m c2 as in radiation from uranium for example. Semantics for non- scientific lexicons can make practical discussions difficult. People sometimes call electrons flowing in a wire ‘energy’.

Fields exist, and the Higgs field exist with two dimension particle-waves slowing and entangled in it seeming to have a third dimension, so energy measurements are contingent selections of the relationships of apparent yet not actual energy?

I don’t know if the total quantity of energy in the Higgs Field ever changes due to the conservation of energy. Gravity may be a space-time curvature attribute or a residual of the unified field, while the strong force, electroweak and Higgs field are in some way joint progenitors of the quark era? One might wonder if quarks are energy, or strings and if there isn’t some kind of solipsistic barrier physically at some level of reduction to fundamental substance-matter-energy.

Mass is the amount of matter of an object. Energy is the amount of work it can do. Quarks are classified as fermions with half not zero spin. In some ways they seem like circular descriptions for noumena at the core of matter. It's hard to regard a field of massless particless as matter- like photons carrying force in an eng field

Quarks are fermions. Mass, like energy, is also a measurement. Photons have zero mass and are classed as bosons because they carry force. Apparently matter is the only 'substance'. Gluons and quarks are classed as fermions because they build matter. Fields existed prior to gluons and quarks. Those fermions put on mass in the Higgs field. I believe the interaction of two-dimensional particle-waves in the Higgs field including photons with their 'timelessness' is interesting to consider.

I believe some would like to regard space-time to be the source of everything in-itself that in various phases emits or allows divisions of packets of virtual energy to become temporally existent independently leading to universes with ‘mass’. I cannot say where all that space-time in-itself evolved to…probably nowhere I think of a soul as information. God backs up that data perhaps…ssds haven’t enough storage capacity

About Christ in Collossians 1- "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell."

God always existed, yet the universe has time and had a beginning.

Etymologically instinct means an impulse toward something. People tend toward acceptance  of select word paradigms as nouns and facts in-themselves a bit too readily. Such descriptions are nominal.

Learned behaviors are sometimes described as instinct or second nature. An SAS operator may shoot a thousand head shots a day on the range (maybe) at proper targets until the right response to stimuli is instinctive, yet self-defense is itself somewhat ‘instinctive’ in a more natural example of the common understanding.

On compassion vs degradation in social history. Is there a cause for optimism philosophically?

Hobbes’ main idea in The Leviathan was the absolute power of the king. He was the brain and the people the body of the state. Life was nasty, brutish and short in his day. Camus’ The Plague has a lot of nastiness in it. The Stranger has the protagonist vomiting on a beach. Camus died in a car accident at a fairly young age. Frankl’s logo therapy was a response to the complete degradation and loss of humanity experienced by inmates of Nazi concentration camps. The only mass philosophy that easily comes to mind that killed millions is communism. Capitalism is more an economic system than philosophy, though basic greed and the will for political power plus minions are the main causes of war.

People can invent their own opponents in politics these days, ignore existential challenges and destroy social well being in the blundered quest for power. Philosophical works sometimes should be understood in their historical context. Would one for instance use The Prince as a role model for poly sci students today?

Communism worked as a revolutionary philosophy because millions of poor people were oppressed by royalty with most of the wealth. China today is better off than they would be if the Imperials had persisted.

If Democrat Presidents hadn’t taken all of Ukraine from Russia and expanded NATO Eastward Russia would be an ally and China more democratic in the political philosophy sense. The poor suffer more than the rich and around the world haven’t got free universal health care  That’s a political rather than a philosophical problem

I suppose NDE means near death experiences. I wondered if sometimes God edits reality a little to keep some people alive where they would have died, and they aren't much aware of the edit though they may be thankful for remaining alive.

Don't know about theoretical sentient beings. They may have different views on death.

Conditioning like learning languages is a social context...filtering that out would leave one imbecilic I would think. Behavior is partly learned from experience and that too conditions. Filter out that placing your hand on a hot stove burns.

Evidence and Beliefs

One may believe facts and/or things evident. Power is however a relationship to things other than itself. One perceives relationships about things, not about noumenon. That need be an inference.

Then of course one may want to consult Socrates’ ideas in The Meno.

Is God in and without the Universe? He is non- contingent Being. Consider the relationship of a programmer to a program running. The programmer is outside the program because it is his ossified praxis, so his thought values are in it. If programs were live and written by thought interfaced with code the relation would be more challenging to delineate. Maybe a creative AI will model that paradigm eventually, if not presently.

Exist etymologically means to come into being, such as a Universe or Multiverse Alternatively God is eternal and always is.

Goldfish Cosmology

A goldfish in a tank universe hasn't awareness of physics beyond the horizons of the tank. It hasn't faith in a creator and doesn't believe in metaphysic's speculation about aether beyond the observable horizon or that extra dimensions exist. It's water medium is made of entangled loopy strings that synthesize the material it breathes.

It reflects sometimes late at night on the origin of the universe tank. It's best guess is that loopy strings oozed as virtual particles from nothingness ( a controversial concept) and were drawn together by gravity, becoming entangled, infinitely concentrated and made into mash at a singularity that broke apart faster than light evolving a universal medium of water and little delicious seahorses to eat. Then the fish has a shot of bourbon before floating off to sleep.

Democracy, Corporatocracy and Republics

Corporatocracy does develop hybrid forms in different circumstances. There is also plutocracy

There are real issues that voters care about Mass illegal immigration was one this time. Voters cast ballots for candidates agreeing with their will. Of course one might like better candidates however the people might get what they deserve. The rare, smart, well balanced candidate with great ideas never makes it through the filters of common averageness that dominate American style democracy.

I should mention the R word (republic). The demos is represented by elected individuals. Direct, live voting on all political issues of a nation doesn't exist anywhere. Some few people would be needed to make issues for people to vote on and they would probably need to be elected. Pure democracy might work in small groups, yet for nations it would need to be reactionary rather than creative, because advancing in new directions would not arise spontaneously as referenda on election ballots.

Philosophical Miscellane

I wondered why people aren't more civil. Atheists post a lot with occasional abuse on the web and that is interminable. A lot of superficial verbiage pro and con various religious opinions.

Are people more civil now than during the 30 years war and respectful of the opinions of others about religion? The thirty years war was between the Habsburgs and other European powers that sought political and religious independence in some cases. German princes had sought to be free of the Hapsburgs since Luther and the Smalcaldian war. 8 million died during the 30 years war. Toleration of different ideas is valuable for a free society.

I enjoyed reading much philosophy and history and understood what philosophy is eventually. It is a learning tool. Questions about cosmology and being are perennial though. Even those with faith may wonder about the nature of things and how that relates to God. An example would be the relationship of omniscience and omnipotentence to a Multiverse; is it a necessity for God to create every possible universe, and do those exist from eternity with God, or are they known yet not actualized until some function occurs.

When Aristotle wrote "The Politics", he was describing the way societies change, and the behavior of the polis. Political philosophy is part of social philosophy. In order to understand human society and politics a philosopher requires actual information, such as the willingness of people with different ideas concerning religion or many other topics to tolerate the expression of those concepts. Societies may have challenges and responses such as Toynbee described in his 'A Study of History' that prompt transitions in political cycles of society, and Toynbee's paradigm in a way is a broad expansion of paradigmata of Aristotle's Politics, yet one must understand real contemporary human behavior if one is to comprehend why people including leaders make the decisions they do, such as the Biden administration's fanaticism for war with Russia over Ukraine via proxies, One would like to know if such characteristics are common and will continue and combine with other Toynbean 'tells' such as vast public debt toward a cyclical progression toward general collapse of civilization (perhaps through W.W. III or if rationality still exists in sufficient measure to delay that. These are philosophical concerns.

Reason and the Quest for God

Most everyone uses reason-it isn’t a rare skill. Reason can lead one to God for a number of reasons, though the spirit must draw one to Christ. A good old classical and symbolic logic text named The Art of Reasoning set out methods for distilling arguments…even so content of knowledge, learning and experience may take people to different destinations. It’s not like an arithmetic problem with one correct answer that can be found with a particular skill set.

Adam and Eve...

They had eternal life (in one direction) before the sin of disobedience. Elsewhere in Genesis it says to be fruitful and multiply. Maybe it's where and when they had sex, although it doesn't say that they had sex. Instead they became aware they were naked. Animals have no sense of that. Might have been an IQ test to determine if A and E were fully sentient. Consider the dog...does it knows it's naked (unless it has a cute little sweater)?

Sin means 'to miss the mark'. Since mankind has original sin having missed the mark of what they were supposed to do, and are hence in a fallen state replete with thermodynamics, there are sundry ways to continue erring not following the righteous course with the grace of God and the salvific work of Jesus. To follow the will of God and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit with the Lord Jesus as one's personal savior is the way

The U.S.A. as an Empirical Threat to Russia and the Trump Peace Plan for Ukraine

Apparently there are Americans and some in political positions of leadership that never were willing to accept the existence of a peaceful and prosperous Russia after the end of the Soviet Union. They felt that Russia would continue forward the communist problems and legacy of so many regional communist revolutions around the world. That inability to have trust in peace doomed Europe to the largest war since the Second World War when the Soviet Union was an ally of the United States against Nazi Germany.

Stealing defeat from the jaws of victory is something Americans have done before. One of the more notable political faux pas was the Eisenhower administration’s unwillingness to trust the Iranian parliament to select a Prime Minister who would support principles of democracy instead of communist and therefore choosing to sponsor a coup to remove the prime minister and install an Emperor over Iran. Muslim nations do not favor communism anywhere and the decision was a consequence of misunderstanding of history in the U.S. administration. The United States, given President Putin’s willingness to restart relations with the U.S.A. should not fail to give peace and prosperity a chance one more time.

Those political individuals that choose to expand N..N.A.T.O. eastward toward Russia created a very real empirical threat to Russian existence. The Ukraine was supposed to remain neutral along with several other formerly Warsaw Pact nations. Instead N.A.T.O. grew larger and larger becoming an obvious future adversary of Russia and perhaps attempting to coerce it into submission to Western hegemony. A belligerent relationship is not a neutral one. Russia needed to be accepted as a normal state with friendly trade relations growing rather than as a problem to be defeated in detail over the decades.

Bad relations with Russia promotes all of America’s semi-adversaries. It endangers America’s world position in trade, environment and security. It creates possible nuclear, chemical, biological and A.I. wars when the only alternative is peace and prosperity. It is important to consider real politic and the demographic and environmental challenges of nations in the world that American leadership feels enmity toward. China is a good example of a nation that has had to implement strict birth control for several decades in order to keep its population from going from 1.5 billion to three or four billion. A democracy as chaotic as America’s has been the past eight years could be devastating if replicated in China. Many nations don’t have the luxury of printing up 36 trillion dollars of public debt to cover expenses when there is a cash shortage to fund government.

President Trump should act soon to be the adult supervisor in the D.C. day care center full of Democrats and renormalize relations with Russia. I suggest the Dnepr River as the new border with a five mile wide tax free trade zone on either side with a Marshall Plan for the entirety of Ukraine getting underway to rebuild the shattered land with ecological economic paradigmata.

Elon Musk explained the Trump team plan would freeze in place borders set by where Russian military forces in Ukraine are, have a British peacekeepers on a DMZ and stop Ukraine from joining N.A.T.O. for 20 years. Russia won't accept that plan because they want West Ukraine to be neutral forever rather than having a belligerent N.A.T.O. on its border in 20 years with a weapons build up before then (with western military supplies stockpiling).

The plan says nothing about ending sanctions on Russia and would probably destabilize the effort to normalize relations with Russia as soon as possible. British 'peacekeepers' is something of a joke. Britain was a primary driver of aggression against Russia and having the British military on Russia's border would be like having Nancy Pelosi provide security for G.O.P. headquarters. Who thought of that bizarre idea? Do they want Hezbollah to provide security for Israel's Gaza border too?

The Problem with A.I.

Programmers can become intoxicated with codes and algorithms and develop occupational tunnel vision. The problem with AI is it's success and power. Humanity has irrational leaders in politics making bad land use and economic decisions and with the need to specialize and focus on narrow self interests ignorance of critical social issues and relationship is pervasive. AI applied just to weapons development is not something to be irrationally exuberant about. Managing AI related issues will soon become beyond political competence.

Democrat's Bundle Bungling Gives Win to Trump

Independents probably voted for Trump because the Harris-Biden campaign included a move to  initiate World War Three in their bundle of what they would do if Harris had won the 2024 Presidential election. World War Three is a hard sell to the American public even if abortion for women votes was also included in their political bundle.

President Trump alternatively was the peace candidate who sought to move toward business as usual, and though he included fossil fuel development in his bundle, his bundling of policies was more discrete and less uniform. Like buying a television entertainment cable package Trump had fewer onerous disincentives in his package to offend independent purchasers.

Because future and past President Trump is more independent in his package bundling- more inclined to change the policies and programs included within a political package bundle, he may discover that solid state batteries will probably replace fossil fuel vehicles as the power train of choice before the end of his term. Toyota plans to field a 1000 mile per charge solid state battery by 2029. Most home owners with usually sunny skies would rather pay zero per mile for fuel than 60 dollars each time they need to fill up a gas tank.

President Trump is an urban guy and doesn’t value the wilderness the way Teddy Roosevelt did while creating the National Park system. Yet he should know that it is almost impossible to replace wilderness areas once lost, and that keeping habitat intact for a healthy ecosphere and to stop the loss of endangered species is important to many independent voters, and should be for future Republican politicians too that develop a better global idea of the need to keep a healthy planet even while humanity expands its capitalist enterprises.,

The social security system could easily be fixed if it had a more need based basis for existing. When it was created it was seen  as a way to keep people out of the absolute poverty created during the Great Depression. It wasn’t intended to be a kind of 401 K system to give more than 2000 dollars monthly to people with very adequate retirement savings. Probably payments should halt at $2000 per month and the minimum monthly payment should rise to $1000 monthly.

Though President Trump is a global warming denier, the future Republican party cannot be. It is in fact only because the Democrats include abortion and loose border security in their political bundle each election that they find it challenging to get a majority of votes. In 2028 if Democrats can promise to have zero illegal immigration and set abortion aside to let the states decide they will have a bundle without two poison pills and a better chance to get millions of independent votes. The Democrats bundling a global heating reduction plan that can be accomplished without adding to public debt through incentives should have a fairly easy time winning the 2028 Presidential election.

If President Trump includes the policy directions mentioned above in his operating political package the next term he could set the stage for a more updated Republican Party. The majority of the world population is in warm sunny countries and those people will want to buy lose cost Chinese electric cars and solid state batteries. For the United States to be viewed as a leader in liberating humanity the Republican party will need to support rapid expansion of low cost electric car exports with solid state batteries while demonstrating that a healthy ecosphere can be kept for wildlife in developing nations. Of course it will help if President-elect Trump can restore peaceful relations with Russia and settle the Ukraine-Russia boundary dispute.
