Reason and Emotion

Emotions tend to fade into the background when one discovers that they don’t make a difference to reality physically. Harsh climate, weather, freezing, starvation rough seas, persecution and other forms of challenges can only be overcome intellectually rather than emotionally. The world doesn’t care at all what one’s emotions are, so why have them at all, is a paradigm with a substantive measure of validity.

Perhaps one may allow love of God to be the background emotion for detached reason, and care generally for the good of mankind
