Canada Isn't a Partner of the U.S. Defense Establishment

Canada isn’t a partner of the United States. It is a former British colony that very reluctantly and lately asserted complete independence. Canada is regarded as somewhat cheesy about many things culturally. While there are many fine Canadians there are also those that consider hockey more important than football.
Canada choose to become testy regarding the United States to a minor degree in 2017 when it changed its defense policy. They said the United States could not be relied upon to defend Canada any more. Also they decided to spend billions to upgrade defense, as they had been spending just quite 1% of G.D.P. on defense. Canada to Rely Less on US Defense in Major Policy Shift
If Russia or China were to invade Canada on the way potentially to attack the United States, the Pentagon might get involved, yet a land war with thousands of concealed, scattered Chinese special forces air-dropped across Canada with special portable weapons to wreak havoc, especially in winter, might be a sticky wicket to crash.
If tens of thousands of drones were to swarm over Canada some day from the other hemisphere, the Defense of the United States would be more difficult. If Canadian casualties ran in the millions and the regular transportation, food and government infrastructure was destroyed; probably not too tough to accomplish, the need to keep invasive foreign hunters from looting Canadian wildlife would perhaps become a concern for the U.N. first, and second, when the U.N. proved incompetent, the United States Department of Fish and Game to prevent widespread poaching decimating endangered species.
A counter-drone offensive might be possible to stop the drones at the U.S. Canada border. In former times the United States could count on Canada to soak up large numbers of invasive foreign combat troops if they somehow made a sneak attack to far North America. By the time they reached the border their casualties from attrition should be very high, yet in the era of cheap high-tech unconventional tech war the assurance that Canada would contain the northern avenue of approach can no longer be considered secure.
In the future, radical changes in the Canadian military posture; a budget increase of 100% to stabilize at 2% of G.D.P. may present an increasing danger to U.S. security, if Canada allows the basing of a large number of European N.A.T.O. forces there. Besides that, Canada probably will work to undermine its own security through immigration policies that are possibly inimical to Canadian security, yet perhaps not.
Canada should be a leader in defense of oceanic fisheries and work to inform the Trump administration of the serious nature of decline that has made fishing generally bad all over. It is a tangible realm for improvement that anyone capable of counting fish and understanding that more is better should know is in need of government directed improvement. Canada is not even a junior partner.
Canada may develop a navy at great cost, or buy an unlabeled, generic aircraft carrier from China, yet an excellent oceanic fisheries observation and scientific quantification fleet might be a more utilitarian investment.
Canadian leadership thrives on controversy, especially regarding U.S. domestic policies Canadians have traditionally favored dissentient viewpoints. It is not certain if anyone yet has discovered where the word ‘Canada’ actually came from; it is like “Tanada’ a little, and ore like ‘nada’, yet it is the Christian concerns that are deficient in Canadian society today, for that is what needs defense more than else. When a nation loses its Christian character, or the salt loses its savor, how can that be restored?
