Morality it is said is a description of what people (society) actually do, ethically speaking. Pros can write about an ideal moral system as may anyone else so inclined, yet the prevailing moral system is what people and society actually do and the manner they implement their formal procedures and guidelines for what is named as 'moral'.
There may be moral systems that are true and correct that are not used at all, and their may be divine criteria for human behavior that are true and adhered to by some and disregarded by others. Morality for a society is however an abstract description of the way people behave.
