Trump & Huckabee Out-Gingrich, Paul In Republican Presidential Race, Waiting for Godot

The race for the Republican 2012 Presidential candidacy is shaping up. Donald Trump declined to become a candidate as has former Arkansas Governor and T.V. show host Mike Huckabee. Two old war horses-Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich have entered the race to provide color and background for the likely eventual winner former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney.

Romney runs well against Obama as the Presidents only major legislative victory was getting a botched up version of the Romney health plan foisted on the public. Romney has rightly said the reason his plan was good for Massachusetts was that the people of that state wanted it-it was not forced upon them as was Obama care.

In Alaska and Kentucky for example, the well oiled fully insured prosperous class will grit their teeth and let the poor bite the bullet of health care costs when need be-if the poor can afford any.

Independents might like to have a Jacque Cousteau sensibility in a Presidential contender-a Henry Ford of diving, or a younger, smarter, cheaper Ralph Nadir-even Joe Stiglitz with a wildcat candidacy. They know however that you can't always get the candidates you want, and hence must run the candidates you have. Waiting for Godot-the ideal candidate, can be unprofitable, except in a soteriological context.

The United States has a 14 trillion dollar federal debt so balancing the budget and paying down the debt swiftly is a way to save 3/4s of a trillion dollars in interest on the debt right now. That is necessary so the nation will have the ability to loan or give a trillion or two as needed to Wall Street, Bankers and global investors in U.S. mortgages or insurance companies should their financial speculations ever have trouble. The rich are too big to fail or tax realistically and need the full guarantee of the U.S. Government at all times to enable ten percent of Americans to be jobless.

The U.S. Government also must be able to fund trillion dollar dictator removal and nation building reconstruction in oil producing nations in order to allow women to have equal rights to be C.E.O.'s of major corporations. The best chance for that happening in Libya or Iran, Iraq or Nigeria is to stop federal spending on regulations that slow down domestic oil exploration or federal spending that unrealisticly foists a delusion on Americans that anything besides petroleum products can fuel American transportation.

If this seems a little facetious-its because it is. The prospects for electing a good U.S. President able to comprehend nationalism, environmental economics, full employment and so forth are virtually nil.
