Adjust Chess Engine Speed to Resemble Human Speed for Blitz Game Practice

Even some of FIDE’s arena chess engines use time control mechanics in game play against humans that are implicitly unfair. The way an engine’s time runs should more closely resemble that of a human player in a three minute chess game.

I played a three minute, 42 move game against a chess engine when my time ran out. The engine had used 15 seconds to make 42 moves. That speed is why it is so unsatisfying to play against an engine. I suggest that programmers slow down the engine to something more like the speed a human player uses to make moves- at least a second or two per move, in order to make playing against engines of more value when training to play against people.
